Fiorentina Away Leg

Found a good bar in Pisa , Called Dabbe Pizzaria & Birreria . 6 tvs and will be showing the Palace game . Florence didn’t work for us as last train a bit too tight at 23.00hrs . Also advised not very safe for English fans in bars ( in Florence)
Hopefully good atmosphere here ( Pisa & Fiorentina are rivals )
Is there many Palace there? Due to several admin cock ups on my part I now have not one but three flights to Poland booked for Friday from various Italian cities including Pisa, followed by a flight to Cyprus. I should work for the box office I think.

I think I'll go to Florence from there tomorrow afternoon as the train is buttons, but there is one back to Pisa at midnight that is starting to look more tempting than 6.5 hours overnight to Naples on the flixbus.

That's a bus to pisa not a train...they link up with Trenitalia for out of hours train travel.
Check out & buy tickets on the Trenitalia app once a free account is created.

I did wonder as the Trainline app shows 2 departures at 0040, but one takes double the time. So there is no train at 0040?

The longer one has 11 stops...the shorter one just one stop at Empoli

Ah ok perfect. Need to decide on night at the airport and polish trains on friday vs night on the flix bus and morning in Naples vs different flixbus and rush to Bergamo for early flight. Knowing me I'll get too pissed and miss all 3 though.

Apparently the club are doing a ticket reissue somewhere in Florence for those lucky enough to have got a ticket. So I'd imagine there will be a lot of useless original duplicates floating about. Its very Palace. Apparently surnames D, E, and I think K were sent to other people. Not sure about other letters.

The Joshua tree and Tartan Jock are the recommendations from our man in Florence (freedman87)
The Tartan Jock is a proper pub and the Joshua Tree is a good bar but smaller. The Red Garter is less appealing, although there were a few Palace in there last night and they hijacked the karaoke bit at the back with a stirring rendition of the F**k UEFA song. The Jock and the Garter are two minutes apart so if you don't like one you can switch to the other.

There is also the Daunbailo pub, but there are so many sizzling hot 20-ish women in there that it would distract anyone from watching the game. And, contrary to other reports, there was no requirement to buy food in order to drink at any of the bars I was in. They were dishing out the booze with both hands. It may well be different today, though.

Anyone started booking for krakow yet....some must be as their few if any direct flights left...it's the 30 April I assume
Yeah, got a return from Edinburgh for 53 quid. Only bettered by the 2 nights accomodation at 52 quid.

Have to say this is easily the warmest European adventure so far. Feels like about 23 but it's lovely.

For those that went…what was it like in the end regarding ticket checks / ID checks and for any that had bought in the Home section.

Really interested to know what peoples real life experiences were after all the pre match talk.

Thanks in advance

Can confirm that it was quite strict where I entered. Saw 2 people get turned away for having no ID, not sure if they were Palace or just genuinely had forgotten ID.

I managed to get in with a residency card but even then they were hesitant as it had place of birth GBR on it. In the end I think the membership cards saved us and convinced them to let us in.

You did well to get in. My inviola card proved next to useless but I suppose I might be able to use it to watch an Italian Seria A match in the next 2 years if I take the wife to show her beautiful Florence.

Have to admit yesterday was a tiring day to get to Cyprus. Missed the first of my 3 plane options from Milan to Poland due to drinking with Freedman87 but that was never really an option. Then after ripping my jeans at the crotch at 1am kneeling down to get something out of my bag and not having a spare pair or anywhere open, the night was further worsened by flixbus cancelling my 4am bus to Naples at 0410.
By sheer luck I had booked a third flight from Pisa to Krakow at 0925 so managed to catch the 0430 train there flashing everyone in the process until I was able to find a shop in Katowice some 12 hours after the initial ripping occurred. At least I didn't lose my passport this time. Finally got back here at 0130 today after 4 hours kip on Wednesday night and 1 hour on Thursday.

Strange to think we will all be in Krakow in just two weeks time. Games coming thick and fast again.
