Conference League- QF

Has anyone got any cheap travel suggestions for the away leg now I've left it too late to do a Gatwick return to Florence?

I'm happy to change the Italy airport and train or rental car it but ideally would like to fly from Gatwick rather than drive to Birmingham or Luton if possible. But beggars can't be choosers I guess.

I guess it depends on how much you're willing to spend and what days you want to travel. You can fly to Pisa then it's only a 50 minute train ride to Florence.

Me personally theres a few of us who are flying Birmingham to Pisa return which was £120 and thats going Wednesday morning and flying back Friday afternoon.

Milan is often a good bet to get into Italy. Then train to Florence.

I am thinking about doing the Palace charter so I have flights from Gatwick on Wednesday evening, back on Friday - Easyjet if you want them. £450 (I paid £550)

Ah if you don't drive then fair enough. As you say train is silly money!
So we're going out on the Wednesday morning. We fly from Brum at 6am to Pisa, so an early start then it's just a 45 minute train ride from Pisa to Florence. Only €10 for the train as well. We will be in Florence about 11am.

Then fly back Friday at midday. Land in Brum about 2pm so decent flight time home.

Could of got it cheaper if we had stayed longer like yourself but unable to.duebto work etc.

As for match tickets I think unless you have over at least 12,000 loyalty points you wont be getting one. I only have 6,500 so I've resigned myself to not getting one but hoping can either get one out there or just be out there to enjoy the atmosphere
The points thing is really annoying at times. I’m owed points for all the shirts I bought this season and I think for some tickets as well. All bought through my account. Gold Membership. Should be enough as Gold Member on it’s own to have access to actually buy tickets.

And the wait before they tell you how it’s gonna be is just as annoying and surely unnecessary. At least if you can find out early you can be resigned to the fact, or if it is possible you can get planning.

Seems there’s at least a handful going via Pisa. The club charter package is going that route too. Funny that they say following the “success” of the charter of Strasbourg and Bosnia. Didn’t the Strasbourg one go unsold and just held seats away from general sale that didn’t need to be?

I expect some will moan about the price, but I was expecting a hike as we’re getting to the serious end of the competition, so at least they’ve kept it the same. £35 is reasonable for my seat compared to what some clubs would charge
More than reasonable. You can’t often get quarter final tickets for that price. General sale tickets are always a good price from CPFC in comparison with other top-division clubs.

is the charter flight (with ticket) sold out - when I click on the link to purchase it takes me through to the sportsworld site but there is nowhere to click after that?

Many thanks

Very close to booking this now but hesitant on paying out and not getting a match ticket.

Anyone got any rough idea on the points required for the away tickets? Literally no point going if we can’t get a ticket.

I would think the first phase will start at a minimum of 10,000 points.
(Obvs only a guess based on previous games)

Its a lot to pay out on travel without a match ticket, if you had been able to jump in when flight prices were far more reasonable its a lot easier to justify it as a nice jolly away for a couple days with a few football mates & if you got to see the game its an added bonus.

Fiorentina have already designated the Palace area in the stadium on their ticket page, seemingly probably only 1000-1200 tickets max. I'm just under 10,000 points so might struggle to get one. Be very surprised if our sale goes as low as 8,000.

When you look at thier ave home attendences for the Conf League. There may be more tickets for Palace!
Bloody hell, going by that it should be 50:50! Obviously QF you’d expect they will draw more of their fans? But clearly the Viola crowd don’t turn up for this comp in general, or at least this season.

Club initial report suggests 1,000 currently allocated to us, but “we are in talks” to gain more. I will keep my fingers crossed for a much higher allocation. Come on Parish, get it done 🙂

It's normal for Fiorentina to have small cup attendances, unless playing a big side - both in Conference and Coppa Italia. We do usually sell out once reaching QF onwards and demand will be there for this game as well as for Selhurst. Due to reduced capacity and security issues (with the away 'cheese' section adjacent to the moving of the home ultras curva) I expect you'll get something in the region of 1000-1200.

Ah, I see. That’ll probably be me out then if it turns out that way, as it won’t get to my points category before selling out.

I’ll be hoping that if we do progress, we’ll get Shakhtar next… it seems facing a side who’s fans are all conscripted is the only way of getting a decent allocation 👀

As a Viola fan, I obviously hope we'll go through (and deservedly win a trophy after two lost finals) but if we don't, I genuinely would like to see you guys win it! Before the tournament started, I thought Strasbourg might be tricky opponents but don't really see any other quality trams to stand in the way. Yes, we lost to both AEK and Mainz in the group, but we were truly terrible at that time pre-December and they will still lucky to win. I'd hoped our game could've been the final as think it will be more of a close contest and intriguing from a tactical point of view.

You'd think it'd be similar to Lublin. We'd get a big allocation. They play in Krakow/Poland in a big stadium. We still don't know what's happening with Florence/Fiorentina tickets, interesting that ACF are allocating Selhurst tickets based on previous Euro away games, Palace should do the same rather than just do it on loyalty points. It's a complete no go in the home areas for anyone English, we have tried via an Italian contact.
