England v Uruguay

I had to laugh when the injured Uruguay player crawled back onto the pitch to stop the game (about 8 minutes in) kind of summed up what kind of an evening we were in for.

To be introduced at the World Cup, apparently. No idea why it was implemented tonight though! They should've had a straight red too.

This is different. During the World Cup VAR will be able to look at second yellows.

Tonight’s game that was not in place. It was just a total f*** up by the ref and then subsequent fudge. The referee correctly issued a yellow card for the foul, however he failed to realise he had already booked the player in question. The game re-started and apparently once the mistake was realised and transmitted to the officials, the 4th official then explained the booking had never happened…go figure???

It was reported soon after the game that he hadn't had a first yellow card, the ref had shown it to a different player for dissent after the actual foul.

Ahhh, I missed the post match stuff.

Do we believe them? Or is it just another backtrack, fudge & lie to try and cover up the officials mistake and incompetence.
