Some aspects of socialism make sense.....mostly sensible collective parts.
Certain society aspects are better nationalised, Military, emergency response, hospitals, education and so on......Sensible unions are also a good thing....though not radical left wing ones.
When you privatise everything you create multiple tier system based upon affordability, which while it can work in some sectors doesn't work well in others.....for example you don't want tiers of different paid for responses for fire services or emergency response. You don't want privatised militaries.
But arguments for privatisation in other areas can be strong.... for grammar schools for example.
