Just look at the comments. It seems you are not allowed to be even apolitical anymore.

The supposed palace fan just did a big U turn.Seems good old Nigel has rattled a few snowflakes...
OOOPS switch. The supposed palace fan just did a big U turn.

Apart from the team, no one should wear football shirts. Are we upset because he should only wear Palace shirts?
I'm confused

That's no way to speak about Eddie Izzard.Kids yes, fat middle aged men wearing football shirts on holiday urgh

Haven't you always argued we should 'keep politics out of football'..?
England
Yes, and I still do. A private tour and a photo op isn't "injecting politics into the game" like taking the knee or rainbow armbands every match.
England
A prominent politician using a football club for PR is very much mixing politics and sport, whichever way you want to spin it.
Just imagine the fallout on here if Palace had a private tour and photo op with Polanksi - no doubt you would find it problematic then.
England
My point was that Ipswich made a statement saying they were apolitical and the comments in their xpost showed that left wimps were not happy with it. And so much for being "inclusive".

Yeah I'm just highlighting that as someone who has presented themselves as strongly principally opposed to mixing politics and sport, I'd have thought you'd be outraged by this.
The fact they've said they are claiming 'apolitical' is just funny - if you're going to allow a divisive politician to use your club for PR, at least own it for what it is.
If Palace did the same with Polanski, what do you think the comments on social media/here would look like?
I think you may be misunderstanding what the term 'inclusive' means.
England
"Politics in football" is what you do when you demand rainbow laces, taking the knee, or virtue signalling every weekend.
Again my point was in regards to Ipswichs statement. It was clear in that they engage across the spectrum and stay apolitical. The left wimps outrage proves the "inclusivity" only goes one way. They are not happy with Ipswich being apolitical.

The BBS would love it though
Well, the answer is Farage known for anything else, just being a political rabble rouser.Yes, very likely!
But my point is that it's silly for either side to try and claim some sort of moral high ground on it - any football club who affiliate themselves with a political figure like that is going to get a negative reaction from somewhere. Just saying the word apolitical doesn't make it so!
I'm also just surprised that the 'keep politics out of football' champions have no issue with it.
England
Ok, so a POLITICIAN posing with a FOOTBALL club is not mixing politics and football for you? 🤣
I understand your point - I am making a different one, that you seem very hesitant to engage with - you have regularly presented that you have a strongly held principle, but don't at all seem to be applying it here.
I'll try again; if Palace did a similar thing with Polanski, would you be ok with it? As long as they come out after and claim to be apolitical...? You think the response on here and social media would be "Oh, that's fine, they've said they're apolitical"?
