Sanogo easily. Benteke apart from his first season he took the club for an expensive ride. Max Meyer, total pony.

Benteke under Pardew, when we actually got some crosses in and fed ball through was superb..then along came Royball where he was left isolated, pretty much the same as JP under Roy.
Under Glasner Benteke would have been awesome.
Max was another who suffered under Roy and never given a chance until his confidence was also shattered

Would agree with most of that list except Sorloth. He's largely done well since Palace and you don't play up front for A Madrid if you are pony. We just didn't use him or play to his strengths.

Two more disappointments: Padovano (later sentenced to 8 years for drug smuggling) and when we signed Sakho he wasn't near what he was on loan.

Given that is the worst XI since we got promoted back to the PL in 2013, I think cost needs to come into it.

Benteke at 30m with really just 1 decent season
Nketiah at 25m who has been either poor or injured.

Never recouped the cost on Benteke and unlikely to recoup the outlay Nketiah.

Sorloth, although poor, we did somehow get out money back on him.

Jordan Mutch cost something like 6m and we gave him away, whilst someone like Max Meyer was a free transfer (albeit high wages).

Since we got promoted and with a minimum of 10 league appearances, which filters out many of the absolute worst players like Bamford, Campana etc.

Obviously some of these seem extremely harsh, like Puncheon and Kelly, but it's mainly as most of the players in these positions have been strong for us or haven't played often enough to qualify.

People have forgotten Zeki Fryers or whatever his name was but he did seem to exist. Off the top of my head, he played maybe three games or something. He was crap and a very poor signing.

Florian Marange, apparently played 1 game in the 1st team, really don't recall that. Elliot Grandin never played a game & Darcy Blake, all Holloway signings when we got promoted.

He did but there was a lot of expectation when he signed and he didn't hit the heights he did when he was on loan. Probably unfair to lump him in with Padovano whose heights were pretty much depths.

Hardly worth replying as plenty worse than these and some were very good players especially Clinton who scored lots of goals for us.

I 2nd those going for the likes of ... Brolin, Mutch, Meyer, Fryers. Also Aaron Wilbraham, good guy, but a slow lump of lard.

But if you look at impact vs cost, then the biggest disappointments have to be quite a few of our biggest value signings:

Sakho
Pino
França
Edouard
Ahamada
Johnson (so far)

None of them worth anywhere close to their transfer fees - 150mil blown on those guys.

Marange ended up not registered for the Premier League and had a huff. Holloway's stupid scatter gun approach. We had too many players and Marange missed out.

He was actually a good keeper but for whatever reason he wasn't happy at Palace and that was reflected in his game time.
I suppose when you swap the French Riviera for Croydon there is a possibility of that happening.
