Worst Premier League XI

Clinton? Are you serious?

Paddy McCarthy was ok as well, including being a stalwart in the administration season. .
Watched Clinton as a kid always been lazy always had tap ins , he had freedman and forsell setting him up , if it wasnt at his feet he wouldn't chase , so that why i said him , that's Alex not paddy lol

You don’t play the number of games and score the number of goals he has by being lazy. Hard to believe it but he thought about his game and once scored a goal from distance because Thierry Henry said the goalkeeper is nearly always out of position when play is outside the box.

Not having that it was the 6yard box , imagine if he run would have scored double 🤣

In terms of crap footballers, I’ll give you Itzik Zohar. 97–98. We didn’t win a home game until about April or May,

There was a home game against Southampton F.C - I think it was Boxing Day. Palace got a penalty near the end of the game - and the home win was in sight.

Now Zohar is a man with the confidence of a prime Zlatan Ibrahimović, and promptly wrestles the ball off Bruce Dyer. Now whilst Itzik has the confidence of a prime Zlatan, he has the touch of a trampoline.

The ball goes down and he starts his "run up". I use the term "run up" loosely - the only thing I’ve ever seen slower than this is Rosie Jones approaching a punchline.

By this point, the entire stadium knows what’s coming. Not hopes. Knows. You can feel it. The inevitability of it. Like watching someone very slowly walk into a glass door.

And then he hits it… if you can call it that. Doesn’t strike it. Doesn’t place it. Just gently passes it to the goalkeeper. And that was us. Didn’t win a home game until April or May. He never played again.

Even in that absolute mess of a season, there was one small mercy. We did at least get to see Matt Jansen. In the 20-odd games he played for us, he looked like he’d been dropped into the wrong team by mistake. Genuinely one of the most gifted players you could watch. Proper footballer.

GK: Wayne Hennessey
LB: Dean Moxey
RB: Martin Kelly
CB: Adrian Mariappa
CB: Brede Hangeland
CM: Jordon Mutch
CM: Max Meyer
RW: Jason Puncheon
LW: Bakary Sako
FW: Yaya Sanogo
FW: Emmanuel Adebayor

Manager: Neil Warnock

Since we got promoted and with a minimum of 10 league appearances, which filters out many of the absolute worst players like Bamford, Campana etc.

Obviously some of these seem extremely harsh, like Puncheon and Kelly, but it's mainly as most of the players in these positions have been strong for us or haven't played often enough to qualify.
Very harsh on Mariappa, Kelly, hangeland and Punch in particular

Jansen was a top player. Remember him scoring a header in the championship where he literally leaped like a salmon
