it seems to be getting very Biblical out there. Tons of countries now getting dragged into the conflagration. This thread is especially for non-Iran internals/Israel/non-Palestine discussions.


And so........
Kuwait and Lebanon just got bombed. Cyprus looking dodgy. Abu Dhabi mentioned. Pakistan-Afghanistan are facing off against each other. Israel attacked Hamas in Qatar. How many more countries getting dragged in ? not to mention the echoes of the fighting that we hear on our own streets.
When will it all end ? Since the Battle of Kadesh, 3300 years ago, the whole region has been an unmitigated sh1.teshow.

There will be fall out for a long time, but the main conflict will probably end by the end of the week when America have bombed Iran's military capability to ruins and Iran run out of missiles.

Iran will have to be very lucky to hit any allied military facilities and do serious damage, they are paper tigers at the end of the day and they are compounding their error by choosing to attack far too many enemies at the same time this decision was arrived at by real desperation ,they need a very quick exit,oil company shares bounced on Friday and continue to do so but that will dissipate over the next few weeks, the USA have elections coming up and the yanks will ensure a quick resolution.

To make a conflict last months you have to have a vast stockpile of weapons or the ability to manufacture them. Unless Iran is supplied weapons by another country they can't do that.

They are proxies and Israel have already proven how poor they are,we can debate this endlessly but in two weeks time it will be over the Usa will not want the mid term elections with this going on. The big three European countries are facilitating the Allies, U.K. Germany and France.

I think they have gone America claim to have hit hundreds of sites and Israel have also been very busy,apparenly the new Iranian regime would like even more conversation, we have had lots of jaw and now they have war ( to paraphrase Churchill).

I'm sure that is exactly what the US will be targeting. The ability to make weaponry is a vital element in any conflict. Identifying and eliminating weapon stockpiles and manufacturing sites would be a primary objective.
If the Iranian air force and ground defences are virtually eliminated then they are a sitting duck.

Initially and expertise.

Russia no doubt has given them stuff in return....I think some cooperation agreements are in place.

However, Russia's components now are mainly from China with a bit of India thrown in and they make it themselves.

i predict a ton more terrorism on the streets of the West. Who needs a James Bond cruise missile ? not when you can transform every spotty local loser into a weapon with a vehicle/kitchen knife ? Croydon or New York.

But, with games very soon, I guess the staff at Larnaca and Palace will be asking questions about travel problems, safety etc.Perhaps even more so for Palace going to Cyprus, if there are missiles flying about. Maybe a different venue, if the games can even take place?

The RAF base near Limmasol was hit by one drone last night. Paphos airport has just been evacuated probably precautionary. Doubt this will go on for three weeks but they would need to make a venue decision next week if it does. I was thinking of going out to the game having family living there, and my cousin at RAF Akotori. But have decided the sofa will be safer.

The massive production of weaponry given to Ukraine will come back to haunt Europe post-war. A percent of it will be sold on to not the most pleasant pro European of peoples.
Most of the politicians who authorised it won't be about to take the responsibility.....and most of the media won't make the salient points because they backed all this to the hilt.

You'd have to assume that the US know that and will take steps to reduce that likelihood. A blockade of some sort might be possible, but destroying the military command structure and capacity to function as quickly as possible would be the best solution.
