Ian Huntley Dead

I hope he survives, but in a vegetative state, living in a recurring nightmare where he gets bludgeoned in the head, castrated and buggered over and over on repeat for the next 40 years. After which he dies from a particularly nasty bout of shitting out his own insides.
 
I certainly wouldn't want Huntley on the Assisted Dying waiting list. I hope he regains enough physical and cognitive capacity to be put back into an unsegregated prison facility, where he can spend the rest of his miserable life living in continuous fear of further attacks.

I would assist him.
 
I would think whoever attacked him may have been seen as a low risk prisoner. Maybe fraud or tax. But clearly decided Huntley deserved a bit of payback and fair play to him. Might be a bit of a celebrity amongst the other cons now.

The other guy was a triple murderer, rape murderer. Hardly a hero. Shame they couldn't just both have an "accident".

I wouldn't specifically punish him for this though.

Why we have to spend money keeping some of these scum alive isn't for me.

I'm not particularly interested in horrific suffering as I don't think the state should engage in that. But if the system makes an 'oops' and someone gets brained...it's unprofessional, but it's nothing to lose sleep over.

I'd just prefer people like Huntley deleted legally, because capital punishment should happen for this level of crime.

Those girls were horribly murdered and robbed of their lives......He doesn't deserve even a horrible life.
 
It's just a fortuitous situation, that his injuries have led to a protracted (and hopefully suffering) eventual death. I would hope he struggles on with life for as long as possible, as long as he is in great pain.
And having his life support turned off, is helping to save that bit of electricity to help others.
 
I seem to be the odd one out here as although I agree that Huntley is an evil man I'm not sure that I like the idea of justice being meted out by rapists and murderers in prison rather than by our legal system. Perhaps rather than being feted by the scum of the earth the man who will no doubt be responsible for Huntley's death should be tried for murder and spend the rest of his life in solitary

A horrible, horrible man has been killed by another horrible man. They are both where they deserve to be - whether that is in a max security prison or in the ground makes no difference to me, as long as neither is ever free again.
