Glasner Out

Yeah, fair point. I’d want it to be very clear that we support the team not the manager.

Despite our awful form fans have only really been critical of Kamada and Mateta and are still behind the team. Maybe because they haven’t said they are leaving and starting slag us and the owners off.
Should sing 'if you won't play for Glasner play for us'. Let him know in no uncertain terms that he is employed by the club, not a spoilt brat.

Regardless of if we win loose or draw. This should be the outcome.

Get Southgate in. Someone who actually wants to be here.
I think that’s the key to why ‘everyone’ is soooooo unhappy. Clearly, OG does not want to be at the club anymore. His statements during Fridays press conference were an admittance he is not up to the job!

I’ll be at the ground soon, be interesting to see the mood

To bring an ex England manager back into the fold is a very Parish thing to do (think Hodgson, Allardyce) so a Southgate interim appointment doesn't seem an outrageous suggestion, particularly in the light of his Palace connections.
What would be in it for Southgate?
I suppose it would re-introduce him to management after his sabbatical and put him back in the spotlight.
Fairly low risk for him too as we're unlikely to need more than a couple of wins and a few draws to secure safety.
Europe would almost be a free hit.
If he did well it would put him in the shop window for a job with bigger clubs in the summer.
He doesn't seem to lack confidence that he's an elite manager even if this is wrapped up in a cloak of false modesty.

Personally I don't want to see it happen as, to use Roy Keane's term , I see Southgate as a 'bluffer.'
But if Glasner is to go I see an out of work Southgate as very Parish like appointment.
All the sounds leaking out of the club are that it’s likely to happen. If anyone is to replace Oli for the rest of the season it’s probably now going to be Sir Gareth of Southgate.

I’ve been strongly against us having Southgate as a manager as I feel he is lacking tactically. We made some really suspect decisions under him as England manager and I feel he was lucky to get as far as he did playing not very good football with a rich of English talent at his disposal.

However we do know that he has good man-management skills, and that will be the main job of any interim who comes in for the short term role of <4 months.

Four months of his simplistic tactics won’t permanently harm our players and if he can bring a positive morale and a hunger back to them it’s a net positive.

Chuck in a dose of romanticism of an ex-player coming in to right the ship both domestically and hopefully in Europe, and it doesn’t sound terrible.

Just imagine for a moment you are Paddy McCarthy; you love your job and are well respected at the club that employs you. You have stepped in twice as caretaker manager when the situation required. Your win percentage from those games is zero. Some voices are touting you for a third stint, and even though your spirit is generous you know that you will never get the job permanently. Do you step in and say "Sure, the club needs me" or do you say "No thanks, I'm better suited where I am to support whoever gets the position"?

The more I have thought about it the more I agree it wouldn’t be a bad thing with Paddy as assistant.

He effectively said he was not up to integrating players he had no input in signing.

A snidy point.

Glasner has emerged as a manager that is outstanding at pushing onwards and upwards when things start well and he can keep building on the positivity. Sadly (a bit like Slot) he seems unable to know what to do when things start to go in the other direction. Hugely disappointing that he has blamed everyone but the tea lady yet maintains that 'he takes full responsibility'.
He has done far more harm to his own career than he ever could to Palace. We'll get a new man in and go again. Glasner on the other hand was being looked at by the likes of United, Spurs, Bayern. I doubt any of those clubs are still interested now. Not after the way he has behaved. He will no doubt get another job but I doubt it will be much if at all bigger than the job he has now. He's too high maintenance, if theres one thing owners dont want in a manager its being criticized every 5 minutes when he is being paid to get the best out of what he has.
I'd very much like to see Parish pull the trigger after todays game regardless of the result but I hope the atmosphere today is not too toxic. Glasner is not important. Our team getting 3 points is.
