Glasner Out

CPFCSaturn, est1905, madcap_v2, Linford any comments ?

Still in Europe, still safe in the top flight.

Since I put down my five game gauntlet we’ve drew with Forest, beaten our rivals from the coast, were very unlucky against Burnley where we got off to a flying start and admitted fell apart in three flashes, and now started the first leg of the playoff all square against the Bosnian champions.

With one game remaining of the five, yes I did hope for more thus far. It’s also not as bad as a lot predicted we would do on here over those four games. Wolves is now very, very important.

I give us a D for this output. It’s enough for now to remain in post but it’s nothing to sing about. We have more than enough about us to beat Wolves and I expect us to at least show a fight and show the ability to do so.

We did have but the current version of our team is far removed from the one who thrilled us all in 2025.
I believe I am realistic about the current situation and perhaps any significant improvement is 'For the birds'.

It may have escaped your notice however our performances are getting worse not better. We have lost our best centre half to injury and our stand in experienced player in Lerma is also out.

Our manager will not change anything so the best we can hope for against Wolves will be a draw and I fully expect Mostar to beat us next week as the pressure will all be on us.

Yes we won the cup and shield walloped top sides, unbeaten in 19... unforgettable times, but that was then.
Glasner wasn't supported in the summer to be fair, but the toys came out and he says he's leaving.
Since then, coincidentally form dips dramatically, we get played off the park by a team of butchers bakers and candlestick makers at Macclesfield, can't beat and lose to some of the lowest teams in Europe, have won 1 in 15, the atmosphere is toxic, OG has clearly lost the majority of the dressing room and face to face arguments have been there to see.
If this isn't sacking form I'm fckd if I know what is. Leave it much longer and the club is in trouble. Get Paddy in for now and we've got a chance on Sunday to put things right and get some smiles back on the faces of the players and fans

Most certainly privately and possibly on HOL I expressed the need to acquire a central defender as Canvot is inexperienced and error prone and Riad was just returning after a long-term injury.I envisaged a major issue if any of the established defenders collected injuries.

Are we. We are currently 8 points clear of relegation but in free fall in the league with terrible form. We aren’t safe. We had an opportunity to get close to safety against Burnley and blew it. We weren’t unlucky, we self destructed. Even the we had an entire half to put it right and couldn’t lay a glove on them.

We need to face up to the fact we are an awful team, have been for months and there aren’t any signs of that improving

I have always advocated getting a proper experienced replacement in for Guehi before he left let alone not getting one in at all.

Might as well have used the £35m we wasted on Johnson to buy one

I am glad you are happy.

Agree about the strange transfer policy.
Obviously it will partly depend on the new manager and style employed, but I could see Nketiah,, Franca and one of Pino or Johnson departing in the summer and the options on Guessand and Uche not being exercised.
It's a pretty awful transfer record in terms of attacking signings.
Franca is under-contract until 2029, cant see many buyers, ditto Nketiah, i think both Pino and Johnson are good players, if they are played wide.

We need Glasner gone today. Sundays game is more important than next Thursdays and if he is still in charge I can’t see even a point being gained on Sunday. Next Thursday under Glasner, it’s a stronger possibility we could win as the opposition are weaker than Wolves. The players need Glasner gone which just might make them fight harder for places in the new managers plans? Not saying we would win those next two matches under a new manager but there’s no chance in my opinion that under Glasner we will get even one point against Wolves. Possibly our most important game of the season or I’m afraid it’s the Championship beckoning :-(

Biggest question remains in this discussion - who replaces Glasner? Anyone can sack their manager but that doesn't fix any problems if we don't have a replacement.

The squad are mostly built to play Glasner's system, so would need to be a manager who makes minimal changes to that structure. I would suggest the only thing a new manager would be able to bring this season is a fresh mindset and therefore a new motivation for the players. Any interim appointment would be pointless in my opinion as the players would still be playing for a manager who is off at the end of the season, which is what we currently have.

I am glad you are happy.
Well, I'm not happy Lanzo I can tell you. I was a big fan of Glasner, but I'm now tarred with the same brush as you - he's gotta go, and soon. He may have won us silverware, but his legacy has a large stain on it.

I’m not sure with Johnson at all. How can you have a decent wide player that can’t beat a man and by the looks of it, can’t cross either. His ball control and passing are also suspect.

We always seem to get our trousers pulled down when we buy from the top “8”.

After the delight of winning the FA Cup, this season has gradually got worse and worse. As they say piss poor planning makes piss poor performance, and ultimately the blame for that rests with Parish and the rest of the board. Whilst we should have been looking at strengthening the team in the summer, it seems SP spent the entire summer trying to overturn the UEFA decision.

Squad wasn't up to the challenge of extra games, especially when you factor in the inevitable injuries. Glasner has had enough points the finger at the board and it seems half the squad is now restless and now play like rabbits in the headlights. We then spend a vast amount of money on players when we know the manager is leaving.

I suspect Glasner will leave within the next couple of games if we lose to Wolves and don't go through Europe. Parish will have been able to deflect the blame onto Glasner. Many fans hold Glasner fully responsible, and his actions certainly have added to the uncertainty and bad feeling around the club.

But the ultimate blame rests with the board. But they now have Glasner as the scapegoat.

If we stay up then Parish and them will act the same again.

We do seem to. For what it's worth Spurs fans really rate him. I think the problem is he hasn't adapted to Glasner's style, has come into a side that's all over the place and an atmosphere that has become pretty toxic. I think he is a good player, he's still young and hopefully he'll come good with the next manager
