If anybody buys newspapers anymore then in tomorrow's, look for the stories on pages 4&5. Might offer a clue as to what they are trying to divert attention from. Because this is all pure froth. Is Andrew a wrong'un? 100%. Would anything approaching any kind of meaningful state-secret have crossed his desk? I would have thought not. Or at least nothing approaching the kind of information Mandelson forwarded onto Epstein during the height of the global financial crisis.

I get all the schadenfreude around this all, but this is pure distraction.

What I don't get is why Mandelson is breathing fresh air. He literally committed high f***ing treason. Should already be on remand and yet he ain't.
 
Of course he won’t be sent to prison.
The offences he was arrested for today might get him a suspended sentence and the noncing allegations are going to be hard to prove and might be US based anyway. He would have a good case to fight extradition on the grounds he wouldn’t get a fair trial.
His mother knew what he was up to and even paid the £12m damages. They all knew he was a wrongun but then again many families close ranks and try and deal with things themselves.

He's as thick as mince. As soon as it was mentioned that plod were looking into the matter he should have hightailed it to a country that has no extradition treaties with UK or USA

Matov right on the case, as always. I can't see anything Andy would have access to would cause him to be arrested. Unless it was fiddling kids again, with more substantive evidence

It's a matter of how long they can string this out, to facilitate pushing Mandy under the carpet. Or perhaps hiding under a pile of pizza boxes.
 
Not trying to understate the Epstein files / Andrew the nonce, but this really is just bullshit for the masses. The CPS would never prosecute him for these so called leaks of information and his noncing is nowhere near people like Jimmy Saville.
The king is quite rightly sweating. Him and his mum had known about this for years. However he told them he didn’t do it, so what would any mum and brother do? They stick by him.
As above, it’s all bullshit distraction.

I don't think many fancied Jimmy Saville.
 
If they charge him with misconduct in public office there are a lot of boxes to tick in order to get a prosecution, he can already argue that he cannot get a fair trial due to the press coverage over years

Yes - Mandelson has done far worse and is free to do as he pleases - Labour politician and so on.
Andrew is being made an example of and is distracting the media from everything else.
I am with you - AMW is an idiot and a dirty one at that. He is gullible, greedy and very impressionable but Mandleson has done far worse and for longer and yet - nothing.

And has all this been allowed to come out to protect one real culprit ? I mean if we give the masses the higher echelons of British society and politics why would they go for poor misunderstood POTUS?
