Restore Britain.

So what’s your answer about a right wing party who isn’t hard right. People have been killed and jailed for using the wrong ‘term’ ! As for accusing me of being socially irresponsible I think you need to look to the current hmg for that. There are places in the uk where bin men and plod avoid. Mainly the Muslim enclaves which you and your attitude have enabled to grow. Also brain washing your family is a little irresponsible don’t you agree !
There isn’t a right wing party who isn’t hard right at the moment. The Tories ought to be, but they are too scared of Reform to embrace the reality that distancing themselves and standing solidly on the centre right is their only route to salvation. Genuine social democracy combined with determined fiscal responsibility is what we need. Stated firmly and honestly.

I am not here to defend the current government but most of their issues have been inherited. That some places are challenging to police is nothing new. It’s just those producing the problems have changed. The solutions remain the same.

My family aren’t brainwashed. My daughters would laugh at such a suggestion and my eldest would rip a new one for many of the right wing posters on here.

Wasteful projects that stink of ineptitude and corruption. With no end product materialising. New Challenger, new submarine, new Jet fighter, new armoured personnel carrier.
Did get two carriers that are half manned by the US. But are essentially defunct in modern warfare but we haven't noticed yet. Fine for bombing Iran or Yemen or something. Not fine for anyone with decent drones or air force.
That’s untrue.

One of my friend’s daughter is married to the ex Commander of the Prince of Wales. Whilst there are occasions when some US personnel could be on board it depends on the mission and is always an insignificant number.

Yet that is exactly what you do.

The ex commander should be keeping his mouth shut. It's clearly not insignificant. I won't give any specifics. Maybe let him.

Proving that it's not just about throwing money at it.
The public deserve value for money and a clear plan as to what is needed for 21st century defence.
Not an easy task as the landscape of warfare seems to change more quickly than it can be planned for.

It's just a decline in the quality of elites.

A hundred and more years ago, we did all this without computers, just pen and paper and brain power, serving a military that was all around the world with many different needs and requirements.

We always had the best technology of the day and the logistics to serve our people in the various theatres.

All from a small minority of elites from public schools that had a ruthless selection process for merit and competence.

Now those with the best brains don't suffer any kind of selection process worthy of the name and they all go into professions that only suit their personal needs rather than their nation.

It's why China is striding from centuries behind to ruling everything.

I wouldn't worry too much, he's almost certainly made it up.

Oh I do hope he hasn't.

It's classic Corny.

He's so far up the arse of the establishment that it's too dark to see his map.

Hol's Hyacinth Bucket......whatever the whims of the current middle class are he'll adapt to them.

Seen it all my life.

I've just joined Restore, first time I have ever got behind a political party in my life.

Whilst I now look in on England from the outside it's still my home, the last time I was in Croydon I was sat in the George having a pint & witnessed a knife fight between two Deliveroo delivery goons outside.

This stuff has been far too normalised, the country needs radical change.

I'm sure that many on the right would like to see foreign criminals deported, both recent and second or even third generation, irrespective of what passport they have. But if Rupert Lowe wants to go further and start deporting people just because they are immigrants, then that has no real justification and will get no support from the vast majority.

If Lowe really cares about Britain then he would get behind the only right wing party that can win the election instead of effectively helping the other parties.

I have no direct contact with him. My information comes from the web and via his mother in law. He has though read the account my father wrote in Singapore after the sinking of the previous Prince of Wales.

From all I can determine there is no permanent US personnel embarked but can be when joint operations are undertaken as NATO partners. Which only confirms our current vulnerability as a partnership we thought was set in stone is being torn apart by the idiot in the White House.

Google says:-

Based on recent 2025 deployment data (Operation Highmast), the
HMS Prince of Wales is primarily crewed by British personnel (~1,600-2,500 total in the wider strike group), with no significant, permanent proportion of US personnel stationed on board. The vessel operates as a UK Royal Navy ship, though it works alongside US forces and carries US F-35B jets, with international participation focused on NATO allies like Canada, Norway, and Spain.
Key Deployment Personnel Details:
  • Total Carrier Complement: Around 1,600 personnel.
  • Core Staff: ~750 ship's crew, ~750 aircraft personnel, and 250 Royal Marines.
  • Deployment Strength: The wider Carrier Strike Group has roughly 2,500 personnel, primarily British, with supporting roles from NATO partners.
  • US Involvement: While the carrier is NATO-committed and operates with US F-35B jets, there is no evidence of a substantial percentage of US military personnel embedded within the ship's daily crew.
This is also useful.

The election is three years away.

Enough time to vote for who is actually going to change things, versus someone who isn't really.

Election year is the only important decision time.

Not the way things are going. It could be a lot sooner.

Cannot see it myself. Labour have such a huge majority that they will cling on for dear life in the hope it turns around. Yes, Starmer is toast, but there is no way they will go an election anytime soon. There is no upside to Labour wanting to go back to the country as thing stand.

Things can move quickly in politics. We live in strange times.

We do. But maths still matter. I am as guilty as anybody when it comes to being carried away by the zeitgiest but why would Labour, given the polls as they are, self-immolate? Yes, I am confident they will ditch Starmer because beyond some massive split in the Parliamentary Labour Party, there is literally nothing in a GE for them.

I would actually argue that if Labour did, in the next 12 months, decide to have another GE then it could only mean they wanted to lose it and lose it badly. Which would be alarming enough in and of itself.

As much as I want them gone, we are stuck with the bastards for the time being. And suspect they will attempt to cling on as long as they can.

They certainly have no pressure in terms of seats, so, baring mass defections, it could only be by a motion of no confidence or a voluntary decision. They could only come with support from some Labour MPs.

I'm sure Reform would like more time to grow, so 3 years would suit them.
