You are incapable of treating people as individuals and on their own merits. You seek to attribute characteristics to them solely due to racial profiling. This situation will never be improved whilst people like you hold such totally blind prejudices. It has to change. What incentive are you offering to those who are absorbing British culture and are as disgusted as we are by the behaviour of the grooming gangs to challenge what surrounds them?

This comment demonstrates just how irresponsibility this has been spun by Reform and how easily people have swallowed the bs. The postponement of elections (not cancellations) was at the request of councils to enable them to complete the reorganisation that will deliver substantial savings. The reasoning being that to delay will save a lot of money.

So now the decision has been taken to go ahead I trust those councils who now have to fund the elections they wanted to postpone will point the finger squarely at Reform as they explain why their Council Tax has to rise again.

The government is supplying funding to help councils with the extra costs involved. They are also paying Reform’s legal costs. It would have been so much easier if the government had used legal advice before potentially encouraging councils to delay elections and having to perform yet another U turn.
And you seriously think that the delay would result in savings that would be passed onto taxpayers?!
A democratic right has been restored; perhaps it’s because Reform had the gumption to do something that protects our rights is what you object to.

Delusional!

The fact you believe the reason for the intended postponements was for financial savings (and not because they were going to be annihilated at the polls) is yet another indication of how out of touch you are.

Shame these people absorbing British culture never said anything, and still don’t and won’t, even though the odds that none knew about the grooming gangs is statistically minute.
You are a silly billy and clutching at the proverbial straw to try to have a different opinion for the sake of it.

So, as discussed before, you think it was ok for voters in my area, to not have a vote for 7 years? This would have been the second time ours were cancelled. How democratic of you! I think it is your interpretation that is bs
You should be praising reform for highlighting the Government had acted illegally but, of course, you seem to have RDS to go along side your TDS

Reform might pontificate about 'Democracy', however their actions were politically motivated and designed purely to benefit the party.
I have a 'Packed schedule', 'Full-on' day today politically, a trip to London is on the agenda, accordingly I do not have the time to comment any further on this matter.
Now need to get 'Togged up' in preparation for my journey into the Capital !

Surely if this was the case, it would have been given as a reason for the delay at the high court? and presuming they did, it was deemed not sufficient enough to bypass the democratic process....

I don't think it got as far as the courts as I think the government admitted defeat before the due date of the court appearance. The were wrong, we knew they were wrong, and they knew that we knew that they were wrong! Like every other u-turn the government have made, they didn't justify their decisions with any form of due diligence, just impose sh1t decisions and hope that nobody notices..

Who else would benefit from the savings? Or are you suggesting there wouldn’t have been any? Whether it be us as council tax payers or income tax payers it’s still us having to bear costs that were avoidable.

Reform are quick enough to moan about legal costs they don’t like but seemingly don’t care costing us to score political points.

No democratic right has been restored because none was ever threatened. The elections being merely delayed as a sensible efficiency measure. Something every responsible politician ought to support and simply agreed to. Suspending hostilities to save the country would have earned Reform brownie points.

That the Government lawyers gave poor advice doesn’t change that.

Of course it’s a shame that some don’t, but stop and ask what contribution YOU have made to this behaviour and whether changing it, which costs nothing, would be beneficial.

Of course that’s not ok but is it typical of the areas involved? Reform are playing political games. They don’t care about you.
