Eze

When Messi played for Barcelona the Spanish league dominated the champions league. 8 wins for Spain, 5 for the prem.
La liga, at the time had the best players in the world, zidane, Ronaldo, figo, messi, Ronaldinho, xavi etc.
Messi never left Barcelona at the time , as they were the best team in the world (possibly Inc international teams) Barcelona wouldn’t sell him and no one could buy him.
Any team in England at the time would have been a step down.

That's a bit tough - neither did
Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Zidane or Beckenbauer.
What ambition was he supposed to have when he won the Champions League 4 times with Barcelona?

Sure, but if you're ambitious enough and genuinely want to be considered as one of the greats, you have to go and dominate multiple leagues. Hard to argue someone's the best in the world if they have not yet tackled the best of the world on a regular basis.

Great player. Never the goat.

The best at the time played in Spain , he regularly tore the English teams ‘a new one’ in the champions league.
Played in 5 World Cups and won the most ballon dors ever.

It appears that Ebs did well against the mighty Wigan at the weekend.

And I think he'll start against Wolves tomorrow night.

Whether this is a turning point for him remains to be seen.

In respect of his England World Cup chances, they do look slim at the moment. However, Tuchel apparently likes having Ebs around in addition to his skills. Southgate used to stick by Harry Maguire in similar circumstances.

And you could argue that Eze will be reasonably fresh due to his lack of playing time !
