last time i worked in streatham, it was a road off the high street.
these were nice victorian properties , probably worth over 1 mill.
1 man witha large knife was chasing another chap.
I got in my van & locked the door.
Another time i was a few floors up on the scaffold at front of the house, some loon was just standing in the gateway eyeballing us,
I required ''What?'' and he replied by showing us a large knife...I stayed on the scaffold until he became bored & left.
Streathams always had quality housing stock, but its not posh, just currently not as bad as it has been.

Police, who were called to the scene soon after 1am on Sunday, found three men with stab wounds, one of whom died after being taken to hospital.

I recall being abroad and a kindly gentleman somewhat advanced in years informed me he was flying to "LA". I immediately thought of 'Los Angeles' but he was referring to 'Luton Airport' !

Harpenden is not too far removed from Luton in terms of distance.As opposed to Luton it is desirable and affluent.
