Brighton vs. Crystal Palace match thread

But wasn’t Munoz lucky not to get a red card?
I think it would have been very harsh . I think the ref realised the first yellow was not really worthy of one ,it wasn't even a foul IMO . The second incident that I assume you are referring to was a yellow but as I say the ref thought better of it because of the first .
Another foul though and he would have been first in the showers

A great win.

Guessand made a difference. Pino was non existent. Larsen worked hard.

A lot of work to do, but 2 more wins and a couple of draws for safety with the Conference as a bonus.

I wonder if we'll be seeing much more of Pino in the coming weeks. Guessand coming on a grabbing a decent assist within ten minutes won't help his case.

He had to play when we were short on numbers but now there's strong competition.

Brighton were very poor, league placings don't lie. No sack for Oliver Glasner then, which makes me think perhaps we can go on a little run, climb the table, and compete in Europe. The squad is raw, what with new players coming in, but there a some games coming up that will enable them to settle in.
On has to wonder how things might have been if this money had been spent last summer, but then again there's a right time for everything.

I guess that’s why there’s a January window. Freshening up the squad mid season can help.

That second half performance deserved the 3 points, we were a bit unlucky not to double our lead in truth.Massive 3 points today gets us over that 30 barrier now we can push on.

As for Brighton from top to bottom they were pathetic and a sound out to their fans, they shouldn’t even think about digging us out about anything again, to leave with 10+ minutes to go when you are 1 goal behind is unforgivable.

They deserve to go through the trap door, but they won’t which is a shame….

A welcome 3 points considering we haven't won since "last year" - thought JSL ruffled a few tame seagullic feathers at times and chipped in with the odd defensive hand but can definitely see why most say he's never been/going to be a regular 15/20+ goal a season hitman.

Reminded me of a younger Chris Wood actually as the commentator mentioned, alas just a very expensive version sadly.

Regardless of JSL, three points and the eagle flying above the seagull is what matters most and that tonight....we have.

Has anyone's opinion changed about the "5h1tty yellow" kit, to the now "Lucky Golden" kit we smacked Brighton in ?

😀 😀 😀

The natives down here are certainly restless.

My neighbour is a Weed season ticket holder and he's been complaining about them for weeks. Yesterday I could see why. They're a pale imitation of what they were. I don't think they'll fall through the trapdoor but they will be getting anxious.

I thought we deserved the points in a very tight game. Surprised and very pleased to keep a clean sheet too.

MOTM for me was Jeff Lerma. Loved how he got at Welbeck late in the game.

It was an awful match apart from the result. I don't know the stats but it seems that Palace were the dominant team.

When we scored I expected them to step up the pressure and to be pounding our goal, it never happened and we were quite comfortable and should have scored another.

If I was a Brighton fan the lack of a reaction when going behind would be concerning.

Brighton, West Ham and Forest in the relegation mix. Oh wow it's like letting a woman loose in a designer store with a credit card but telling her she can only buy one thing. Choices, choices 😀

I wouldn't rule out Tottenham either.

Hopefully after our next match midweek we will have bagged another win and can start looking up the table again.

I thought there was a reaction. ? 10 minutes later, the stadium started emptying. 😀

I know it's a cliché, but it felt like the difference was that we just wanted it more. Our players were winning the 50/50 duels and chasing everything. It seemed a brave call for them to play a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old as two of their front three and it really didn't work as they were outmuscled all game. It's hard to see how their manager survives a performance like that off the back of their own poor run.

The new players have clearly brought some positive energy back into the changing room, which will hopefully see us pick up more points in the next two PL games, and secure one foot into the next round of the Conference League. What a rollercoaster this season is!
