If all ICE were doing was continuing to do what they used to do, quietly and effectively, there wouldn’t be a debate. They aren’t though. They are trawling through neighbourhoods and detaining people solely on racial profiling. They aren’t concentrating on removing criminals and gang members as is often claimed.

Nor is anyone “interfering with the process”! They are legally protesting the tactics being used. Something that is protected by law and ICE are themselves legally obligated to respect. The authorities do have to ensure they carry out their duties within the law, but they aren’t. They are encouraging them to break the law and are defending them when they do.

Yes, just so long as everyone is able to obtain their ID in time and a wide range of IDs are acceptable. It’s incumbent on the administration to ensure no group is disadvantaged by the requirements and to provide as much assistance as is needed to ensure total coverage.

That though does not appear to be the objective. Barriers are being considered which would make it hard for some to comply. It’s being politically exploited.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with either the racial make up of those employed by ICE or of those they are targeting.

It only has to do with their behaviour, which has been directed by this scammy administration. Behaviour which has resulted in the deaths, and abuse, of US citizens.
