I rarely use the BBS, primarily because I don’t like the format so I have no experience of people being banned. However, I am quite sure that there are comments here that would get people banned in many other forums so I can understand why it could happen and doubt it is reflective of anything particularly political but more probably simply rudeness or offensive comments.

I have been a member before the HOL was a forum, but just a newsletter. I used it to stay in touch with Palace info whilst travelling and found the politics section by accident. A section which originally seemed fairly balanced and representative but which has increasingly become a haven for those on the right fringe.

You think it’s wrong to be on the fringe right then. I thought this was a politics part of hol.

You may not remember the 1930’s a Little man in Germany ordered a load of masked men to start dragging people from their homes, they disappeared, their houses were ransacked and their assets seized by the state. Nobody in his country objected and the people did nothing to stop him. Emboldened he went on to oversea the murder of millions of people who he had taken a dislike to, Jews, those with disabilities, homosexuals etc.

The long and the short of it is ‘If good men do nothing evil prevails’.

Decent people will always stand up against those who seek to reek hate, fear and havoc on behalf of a dictator hoping to possess absolute and unchecked power over a state.

If people like Good and Pretti don’t stand Trump will rig elections, invade sovereign states and oversea the disappearance of millions of people. Let us hope their murders were not in vain.

The objections to ICE have nothing to do with raw numbers. The fact that under Obama it was higher, with a much smaller force and achieved without publicity ought to inform that.

It’s about tactics, behaviour and lawless behaviour by groups of paramilitary thugs being encouraged and supported by a corrupt administration.

A standard racist trope and a post that could not have been posted without someone senior giving it the nod. But some poor junior staffer who probably knew nothing about it has been chucked under the bus to save the faces of those who actually posted it.
