Rebranding as 'BBC Verify' kind of shot themselves in the foot, since it confirms that bog-standard BBC is not verified, nor was anything checked before the establishment of the 'Verify' brand.

Not that their usual audience will notice.

Didn’t BBC Verify only use the very same think tank report that Reeves used to justify the Farmers IHT changes? Or was it the Winter Fuel Allowance changes? Whichever one it was it wasn’t a very balanced verification process.

Not sure about that, but it sounds par for the course.

I know people who had the misfortune to liaise directly with them. Needless to say, they were dishonest and unscrupulous. Broken promises, dodgy editing ... the works.
