Ok, you asked for it.
The fact that you have had your head in the sand over this isn't really a fault of mine.
But I haven't had my head in the sand and I have the receipts.
Here are ten prominent examples of left-leaning figures, Democrats, or media outlets dismissing the right-wing emphasis on releasing the Epstein files
(often framed around a supposed "client list") as a conspiracy theory or baseless speculation. These are drawn from major sources and ranked roughly by prominence and influence, focusing on high-profile statements or articles that explicitly tie the push to right-wing or QAnon-driven narratives. I've prioritized factual reporting without partisan spin.
- MSNBC Opinion Piece (January 2024): In an op-ed, writer Hayes Brown described the anticipation around the Epstein documents as fueling "conspiracy theories" promoted by right-wing figures, noting that the "client list" narrative is a letdown and won't unravel any elite network, as it's tied to apolitical but often far-right speculation.
- CNN Analysis (February 2025): CNN's media reporter highlighted how right-wing personalities hyped the "Epstein client list" as a major conspiracy theory for years, only for it to unravel, citing experts who confirmed no such list exists despite MAGA claims.
- MSNBC Opinion (August 2025): An MSNBC column called rumors about the Epstein files "preposterous" and aligned with QAnon conspiracy theories, arguing that the right's obsession (including Trump's promises) was overblown and that no smoking-gun client list would emerge.
- The New York Times Podcast Transcript (July 2025): In a discussion, the NYT referred to the "mythical client list" as the focal point of a dominant conspiracy theory within MAGA circles, emphasizing how it enmeshes Trump administration figures in unfounded Epstein speculation.
- The New York Times Article (July 2025): The NYT described the Epstein client list as a "mythical" element of right-wing conspiracy theories, noting that Trump's aides spread it before trying to downplay it as baseless.
- MSNBC Opinion (July 2025): Hayes Brown on MSNBC labeled the Epstein files push one of the "most lurid conspiracies" stoked by Trump, calling the purported client list something that "almost certainly doesn’t exist" and criticizing MAGA for building expectations on falsehoods.
- CNN Media Report (July 2025): CNN reported on how MAGA media's promotion of Epstein conspiracy theories, including the "supposed Epstein client list," backfired on Trump, framing it as unfounded conjecture rooted in right-wing narratives.
- Beto O'Rourke Statement (August 2019): Then-Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke criticized Trump for "using this position of public trust to attack his political enemies with unfounded conspiracy theories" related to Epstein's death and files, tying it to right-wing attacks on Democrats.
- Cory Booker Statement (August 2019): Democratic Sen. Cory Booker called Trump's promotion of Epstein theories "dangerous," accusing him of "giving life to not just conspiracy theories but really whipping people up into anger," in reference to right-wing claims about a cover-up involving Democrats.
- Politico Magazine Interview (January 2024): Conspiracy theory expert Mike Rothschild, in a Politico piece, described the right's obsession with the "Epstein list" as part of a "toxic stew" of QAnon, antisemitism, and Clinton-focused conspiracies, noting it's not a real client list but a document dump with no smoking gun.
That makes no sense.
You seem to be confused with the idea that I'm saying everyone on the left.....when that's not what I said, I'm saying the mainstream left's position certainly, as I've proved above and the left's activists who showed no interest in this until Trump came to power (because they listen to their mainstream's narrative).....However, I can think of respectable individuals on the left who have been against the mainstream left's position on Epstein since before it became fashionable. Ana Kasparian for example.
Someone can be a monarchist, insomuch as think the idea works better than the alternative.....but not like the current monarchy....which is woke as feck.
I think I've proven your central contention as misinformed.
