Jørgen Strand Larsen

Watched the last ten mins and Larsen looked pretty lost. Mind you Wolves didn’t give him much service and like Pino they blew a free kick in a dangerous position. Larsen also muffed a pass. Not impressed but hopefully our players alongside him (if signed) will give better service and be tighter unlike Wolves?
Hopefully, yes, but this season he's scored against West Ham x 2, Burnley x 1 and Shrewsbury x 3. Perhaps our ranks of wingers can pick him out more frequently.

It depends surely on how much we get for JPM. IF JSL is £10 million more than we get for JPM and IF he is an upgrade then that looks like pretty good business. Wait until the summer and JPM’s value might have plummeted and there will most likely be stiff competition for JSL.
I've read a lot of people say this and I can understand it but I just can't get on board with it.

If we're selling JPM for a huge profit then the squad needs to be stronger after using the funds. JSL is no guarantee of an upgrade, in fact a lot would point towards him being worse. Spending 45m/50m on him just because we get 35m/40m for Mateta is utter stupidity. It's not 'just like' spending an extra 10m, as we'll be using up all our funds on a player who most think is crap. Any incoming funds should be much more wisely invested across 2 or potentially 3 players if we do have 50m to spare.

Most on here may indeed think he is ‘crap’ but the opinion that matters is of our DOF who will know him better than most, and our own scouting team. With the greatest respect, most (not all) people on here are only in a position to make pretty superficial judgements about a player (I include myself in that). I think it unlikely that Parish will spunk £50 million on a player without at least some evidence that he is not ‘crap’. Of course, there is no guarantee we will sign him anyway.

respectfully the dof + the scouting team are not all-knowing and can make mistakes. Spending 50 million on this guy would be a mistake just like spunking close to 30 million for nketiah was a mistake.

I'm just praying that Palace are working on another option that isn't this one. Anything over 25m for this lad would be lunacy.
The thing that worries me are the reports which say it's mainly the add-ons which are the sticking point. Which worryingly suggests we're happy to pay the 45m. Wolves are obviously holding out for every last penny, fairplay to them and it seems they realise we're absolutely desperate and are willing to pay well over his actual value.

If we smash our transfer record for JSL it'll be a very sad day for the club. With every appearance the lad proves himself to be nothing more than an average striker (which already staggeringly usually fetches 20m plus these days). But if we agree 50m then quite frankly we're an embarrassment. It feels like everyone in football can see it, except us.

Just to make it clear, I don't want this transfer to happen 😂

It’s all very well saying don’t buy Larsen but we need a striker to support Sarr. We don’t have any goals coming from midfield. Wharton & Hughes are shocking in this respect and constantly seem to aim at a poor guy in the upper reaches of the terrace. Sure..Larsen’s has had a dip in form but he could easily bounce back to his previous levels. He gets into the box with well timed runs and reads the game to perfection. Also very good with his head..an attribute we’ve been lacking.

id recommend a fee of £42.5 with no add ons. Things are expensive these days. Don’t start me off on a kit-kat I bought at a petrol station yesterday for £1.50.

We desperately need a new striker, but window closes tomorrow.
Wake up,SP and smell the coffee.
Perhaps an inevitable defeat this afternoon to an inform Forest will finally see some action before it is too late.

Of course. But that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. At least two other teams, Newcastle and Leeds, have apparently both also made big money bids for him at various times. Are they all wrong?

FWIW I agree it seems an insane amount to pay.

I agree with those who say he is NOT an upgrade on Mateta and is not a like for like.
It would be lunacy to pay £40 or 50m.
Keep the money, get through the season which we will do and look between now and the new season for someone.
Predictions the minefield of HOL!

We can’t go into the rest of the season with nobody to lead the line. Sarr can do it at a push but it isn’t his natural position. Beyond him there isn’t anyone else who fits it. Johnson and Uche are both more wide forwards or attacking midfielders respectively. The new loanee from Villa isn’t an out and out centre forward. We are in terrible form, can’t score and JPM wants to leave. We need a replacement.

Is £45m a lot? Yes. If we sell JPM for £30m is £15m net spend a lot to replace him. No (in the crazy world of the prem).

I find it a bit odd that one of the main criticisms this season is the board not spending to strengthen the squad. When it looks like they will loads of people object to it. I know it might be about the player and everyone has different views but it is a bit strange.

Apparently missed a sitter today which may’ve given wolves a point!!

Hopefully not replacing like for like!!
Mis-hit a shot from 2 yards. Obviously, been studying Mateta. Didn't contribute otherwise and it looks a really bad decision if it goes through
Kilman, another with a Wolves connection who we have been linked with, came on as a sub when West Ham were leading. Nuff said
