Jørgen Strand Larsen

Done deal some people are saying £45m plus £5m add-ons & other sources are saying total deal £38m so we will see.

Deal will be confirmed by club later today or tomorrow morning.

I'm guessing Parish sees JSLs actual value as the net difference with whatever we ultimately get for Mateta

So more like 10/15m at the end of the day

Given what was said by someone earlier about Newcastle bidding 60+ in the Summer, I'd say this seems pretty good business
PROVIDING Mateta fecks off before Monday....

Otherwise...its s***

Yeah, provided Mateta fecks off on crutches with his knee injury, any club sanctioning that purchase on a crocked player needs their head examining.

Not necessarily

We've shown lack of squad depth this season, JP JLS & EN as striking options with Uche also able to play there. Sarr, Guessand, Pino, Johnson & again Uche to paly to the 2 no10 positions. we suddenly have options to come off of the bench.

Hopefully Riad stays fit and gets minutes and the same for Doucoure

Only issue for me is the Mitchell & Munoz cover, Sosa is awful.

I'm not happy with Mateta wanting to leave and I don't like the way he's said he wants champions league football but is happy to move to forest but i also wouldn't be against having him till the end of the season.

Maybe this is the final roll of the dice to try and get European football next season

£50 million is a pretty penny but this is very good striker. Theres a reason why Newcastle wanted him in the summer. Hes is much better than mateta. However questions have to be asked about the sustainability of fees like this. We are not a club that can afford to spend north of 80 million in a transfer window.......
Of course we are ! The financial geniuses on this site keep saying we have to Spend, Spend, Spend 🤪

Matt Hobbs comes in as DoF and we smash our transfer record TWICE in his first window. It makes me very nervous.

This is so unlike Parish it makes me wonder if Woody Woodpecker has got a bit wobbly and insisted on splashing some cash.

Now I can't stop hearing the Woody Woodpecker laugh when we're linked with anybody.

"Hey I've got a great idea, this Parish fella, I'll get him to buy Hwang Hee Chang of you!"
"Ha! That would be hilarious Matt, but wait..! I have an even more dastardly plan..."

We're definitely overpaying, but I think he's a good player and a good fit for us.

This season has obviously gone a bit wrong, but his career before that is quite impressive;

- top scorer and POTY for Gronigen in the Dutch top flight
- top scorer for Celta in La Liga
- top scorer for Wolves in the Prem

As others have said, if we replace JP with someone younger, fitter and prepared to commit to a proper contract, all for a £10m net spend... I think that's good business.

Agree

I'm still not having that we are spending 50m on this lad.

For 50 big ones we could pretty much pick any striker in Europe.
For 50m you could get any striker in Europe yes, but where's the guarantee they will suceed. Look at Gyokores for 60m....

50m is what it'll cost you to get one thats actually proven in the prem. I think this is a great replacement for JP!

This amount of money for an average striker is absolutely insane. Anymore than 30mil is just absurd. I even quite like him as a player but this is ridiculous. He is set to fail with a fee like that.

Blimey, something we agree on 😊
