I agree that Wilf is likely to be considered our greatest player, and I’m not sure there is much animosity towards him. If Fergie had stayed at ManU then I think he could have gone on to be a world class player, but he didn’t.
A world class player does not stay at Palace, they go on to much bigger things and then dominate on the world stage.
 
Olise will go down as our greatest ever player when his career is all done, largely for what he's done elsewhere.

For me, Zaha is the greatest player I've seen in the shirt, consistently over 10 seasons, followed probably by Guehi, AJ, Freedman and honourable mentions to Eze and Munoz
 
When I first saw Eze and Olise I thought Eze would be the superstar. Then he ruptured his achilles and Olise got better and better. When Eze came back into the side it was great to see them together but apparent that Olise was the better player. After he left I hoped Eze would step up but while he was brilliant at times and won us games and the cup, he could be anonymous for long periods. Meanwhile Olise was and still is tearing up the German League and Champions League. Sadly Eze hasn’t improved at Arsenal and seems content just being part of the squad. Being the best in the world isn’t just about talent. The best have something else that makes them do it game after game. Olise has that.
 
I think our greatest ever player needed to play more games for us than Michael Olise did. So I’ll say Kenny Sansom and Ian Wright are our greatest ever. Had a massive impact for us over a number of years and went on to bigger and better things elsewhere

Olise probably is our most talented player ever but I wouldn't particularly care as he wasn't here for long enough.
I'd be more inclined to vote for club stalwarts like Cannon, Joel Ward, Delaney etc. The ones you figure probably support us too.
I could say Wright but I'd prefer to say Bright etc.
I'm pretty sure you can see where I'm coming from.
One or two seasons wonders just don't do it really.
