For me I feel he had a purple patch under Glasner. Yes our top goal scorer etc but he has looked out of sorts of late (Although I believe he is carrying a knee injury). Whether we like it or not, Football is a business and the club has to be run as such. An offer of 35-40 million, yes we should take it, he is 28 and going into the last 18 months of his contract. If we did it frees up finances for Uche who I believe we have a 17mill obligation to pay if he starts X number of premier league games.

I don't think it's a good idea to sell him, let alone to relegation rivals. I said in another post, although he's in horrible form I still think we have a better chance of getting him scoring again (with key players returning) than we do a replacement.

For me it's the fact that he wants away and has cost us so many points with his lack of finishing easy chances. If he didn't want away it might be different, as you say we have lacked a proper striker for years, and there isn't much guarantee of signing another one in the next 4 days.

I agree. Sell him in the summer. He might even hit that purple patch again and see us to safety in the remainder of the season.

We only play one up top plus he takes our penalties.

I’d suggest Michael Cheek would’ve scored just as many goals in the same situations, if not more, as he's a much better finisher.

Read his injury is similar to the one Munoz had recently which got fixed. JPM is no where near where he was before the injury. Should’ve got it fixed but chose to carry on and now it’s obvious he can’t turn or beat a defender so his injury is impacting what he used to do. I can’t see him passing a medical so he ain’t going no where till it’s fixed.

He dont want to be here. We should cash in and get rid of him. He will not be busting a gut and giving us 100%, its human nature. You can say all the right things, but even us mere mortals know, that if you want out a job or situation that is straight away nit giving 100%
Plus the way he has conducted himself doesn't sit right with me. I'll drive him to Nottingham tonight.

Perhaps because he's a big part of the whole not being able to score a goal thing.
The number of absolute sitters 1v1s he's missed is embarrassing.

I am struggling to believe that a transfer to Forest is part of JP's plan. Surely he wanted to move for a chance with a big club ? To my mind if he does move to a big club he will be a disastrous purchase for them - Olise, Eze and Guehi were all very worthy of playing for a top club, JP is not.

Torn on this as he’s obviously our focal point and it just looks wrong timing for morale with Guehi and Glasner, even if it’s the right thing to do.

That said, if you can find a way to put Sarr, Johnson or Uche in those exact same positions from the lowlight reel, I’d have more faith they’d be scored. That could be the main reason we are in a relegation fight because had Mateta scored 50% of them we’d have just enough points now not to look over our shoulder.

It’s a gamble though as it’s yet another leaver without a replacement. If Uche, Johnson or Sarr can’t play in the middle and get those chances or if they get injured, we have literally zero cover. To compliment our no cover to Guehi or Munoz.

It’s worrying times.
