If he doesn’t show significant improvements with just 12 months left on his contract in the summer then he won’t be worth anything near £35M.

We haven’t won in last 12 and to my mind he is the primary cause of our demise (not the only one I agree).

We definitely need another striker on loan or permanently but most people seem in agreement Uche (not the answer) or Sarr should be played in his position for a period of time.

Not ideal and I’m sure with Glasner there will be a knock on scenario but take the money makes sense to me.

While JPM is here Uche knows it’s not his position. Given a run out might well prove it is something he can do for us. Still raw but many of our regulars were .
 
a couple more crappy performances from JP and we will be begging anybody to take him off our hands.

i wont care if its Norwich, West Brom......but would most like to see him at Brighton.

we have taken only 2 points ......of the last 24 points recently available.
 
Why would Mateta consider Forest? More money, but is it much more than we offered him? If you try to be impartial the same level of football. Milan I get it. Even Man U at a stetch, but Forest. Maybe they are just trying unsettle him before next Sunday.
Swapping him for Strand Larsen makes little sense. Don't see him as any better than Mateta. A few years younger.
I'd sell Mateta for £40m to whoever, try and find a loan and make do with what we've got. Risky, but keep the money for the new manager.

Younger, and will be under a new 5 year contract.

Also might want to play for us, which would be a bonus!
 
Mateta should have been benched ages ago rather than continuing to play him and making excuses for his poor performances. If his knee needed a rest or an op then do it. Continuing to play him was a slap in the face for Nketiah or Uche or any of the kids on the bench. It also encouraged him to think he was irreplaceable and worth a huge hike in his salary. Now we have a lumbering unhappy unmotivated centre forward and no back up. Surely it’s time to try something else.
 
He's been miss-firing all season and when you add in the fact his link up play has been poor, I think he should be dropped.
He doesn't look fit either and I don't mean his Knee. He starts a game well but is blowing out his arse after 20 mins and goes back to his lollopy ,clumsy self. His first touch and anticipation then deserts him and he contributes very little thereafter.
 
According to a journo on talksport last night mateta wanted a new £140k a week contract from us!!

the guy is either deluded or very badly advised by the people around him!!

Darren Ambrose mentioned last week that he thought Mateta had only recently got himself an agent. The bloke he's got only has one other player listed on his books (who plays in the 4th tier in France) so it seems likely the agent is trying to cash in on his only real asset.

He was kept on because he was the focal point of Glasner's one dimensional system - fine while it was working but if one part breaks down or goes missing then the whole thing collapses. Glasner has proven time and time again that he doesn't have the range of improvisatory imagination to make a difference, a plan B in other words, and here we are.
 
David Ornstein of The Athletic is reporting that Mateta 'is open' to joining Forest.
I doubt he's spoken to Mateta in person, so it's probably Mateta's representatives looking for a fat payday leaking info.

At the same time it's being reported that Leeds are favourites for Larsen.

The only strikers I've seen us linked with are the inexperienced Cherif and Ramos from PSG , which to me seems unlikely.

Is there a mystery striker out there we are closing in on if Mateta departs?
