Agreed. For me the most frustrating part of this short post cup winning period, or one of them anyway, is the realisation of how much of a setback to growing the support base of the club having a supermarket behind the goal is. (I'm sure I could rephrase this sentence better but it's 1am).
People may argue that improving the corporate facilities is vital too and it probably is, but we gained so many potential new fans in May. It's a shame how far Bloye set us back in 1980. In an ideal world we could buy them out, or even relocate them, or even redevelop the supermarket at a slightly lower level in order to release the huge site behind the goal again after 45 years. I guess this belongs on the Selhurst development thread, but I wanted to share your frustrations about why we still cannot compete financially and why the same things would probably happen again were we to build a similar quality side again in the future. Depressing.
