Who's Next?

Eze gone
Guehi gone
Glasner as good as gone
Mateta wants out

Who's next?
Munoz, probably in the summer?
Wharton, maybe next January?

I know we're supposed to be a 'selling club', but I hate it.

This pretty much sum's up how I feel right now. Pants truly sodden.

I put this on the Mateta thread, but it is probably better on here!

In typical Palace fashion we assemble a good squad (starting 11) we finally win a cup and then all the players grow massive egos, believe all the hype, and think they are too good for us. The press are constantly selling the players and every day it’s either Wharton, Munoz, JP or Max. Or any of the others that have already left.
I understand that they can move on and probably earn more money, but we see it time and time again that it very rarely works out well.
This current player problem is being exacerbated by the uncertainty around the manager and then the loss of Eze and Marc. The players are probably thinking that it’s all down hill from here and want out like rats off the sinking ship.
We need players who are prepared to fight for Palace, but at the same time the club need to make a stand to stem the exodus, or we will be playing Devenney in every bloody position

The perfect video to put a humorous spin on an awful week.
I think Munoz and Wharton will go in the summer. The new coach will have money to rebuild. Hopefully with a blend of our youth players, the retained experienced pkayers and some good signings along with main stand rebuild….if it goes ahead then positive times again.
No doubt Franca and rak sakyi on their way out as well, Hughes and Lerma contracts up.
Incredible turnover of players in a short amount of time. New coach needs to be ready from day one and able to lift the place

To be honest, I don't give a sh!t anymore, not about the club tho. I've kind of come to accept it after the initial rage.
Never a dull day.

In the past, we rarely anyone that another club wanted to buy. Now our policy of buying potential younger talent and selling at a profit is working. We are somewhere near the upper end of the food chain but can’t compete with the truly elite clubs. This is how football works, this is our current reality.

How is it working we are making very small profits in the bigger picture.

We have not moved go back and look at our Prem history.

No what we should be doing is selling players at highest price and already having replacement we have not done this we are selling people with no proper replacements and when we bring in not replacements but cover which should have been in place ages ago they are useless bargain basement people like Sosa.

Go over all our transfers how many have we made profit from Olise/Eze that is about it.

I take no pleasure in saying this but it's all downhill now.
This is unavoidable with all the downgrades throughout the club.
This is more a realistic view rather than a negative one.
Freedman was a key figure at the club with overall responsibility for all football related matters and gas been sorely missed.
He has been replaced by a figure sacked by Wolves who I understand is on a short term contract and who has nothing of Freedman's stature.
I doubt Glasner's successor will be able to match Glasner's record of turning us into a team that feared nobody and won the only major competitions in our long history.
Players who have joined/may join are nowhere near the quailty of Eze, Olise and Guehi .
Players who have joined in recent windows are average at best.
People decry JPM at the moment because of his recent poor form and supposed transfer request.
However, I would wager his replacement will not achieve anything like his goal record in the last couple of seasons.
Downgrades all over the place, with the exception of Lacroix over Anderson, but that's a rare example.

Rather than a team looking at the top 6 , which we were under Glasner with elite players, we're looking again at a future where mid-table will be the goal.
I suppose in historical terms that's still an achievement, but it's sad to the dream die.

f***ing Parish say something

It’s all going tits up we are in need every day for FS

The bloody dressing room must be all over the bloody shop right now

Parish get a grip you lost it the minute you stop reading bloody emails months ago !!!!

You have to ask yourself does this happen at Brentford, at Fulham, at West Ham, at Wolves, even at Brighton and if not why are we singled out for this crappy behaviour?

Supported them in every division and its great to be in prem but. really doesn’t matter what league we’re in Obviously had thoughts of being top 4 with eze Olise and Guehi but have to be realistic as two years from now championship maybe a flirt with efl 1 and the rollercoaster carries on .Sad but there we are (Willos brainwashed me 😀)

Life as a palace fan will never get better than may 17th 2025. It was always going to go downhill. I seriously considered retiring from football after that.

Maybe in another 10 years we will have assembled another great team and get to another Fa cup final.......and we might even start works on the stadium by then.

Yes it happens at all clubs outside of about 4 or 5 in the Premier League. Look at Newcastle. All the money you could need. Build a Champions League qualifying team and then lose their star forward to a bigger club. Brentford sold their two best players, West Ham well, need I say more.

You are right of course. I’d be happy if we just steadied the ship, achieve safety this year, do what we are able in Europe and then next season make sure we don’t do what has happened to Wolves or Wet Spam. It was so b hard to do what we did last season, just look at the FA Cup in the last 30 years until us, only Wigan and Portsmouth won it outside the top six clubs. And look what happened to them. Remaining in the PL as long as we have and continuing the run, given the size of the club, will be one of the outstanding achievements in my book.

Well it doesn’t seem to be reported as much. Palace bashing appears to be a popular media game.

The powers at play in world football were put on notice as soon we lifted the FA cup. Corrupt chairmen and officials circled the wagons to ensure a small South London club didn’t disrupt the football ecosystem or money flow.

Parish didn’t have the experience, status or money to be able to navigate the headwinds!

One way or another it would have ended very badly for us. It’s almost a blessing the speed of decline as we haven’t threatened the long term financial stability of the club.
