Glasner Out

Project forward a few weeks.

Sarr, Kamada and Munoz return, the team recovers some form making progress in the league and the Conference.
Glasner behaves himself.

It's not beyond the realms of possibilty.

Will the many adamant that they want Glasner gone by yesterday revise their view in this case a few weeks henceforth?

Discuss.
Theres a lot of If's in that statement... without actually using the word 'if' !

A lot of pressure is being put on the the shoulders of the return of Munoz, Sarr and Kamada. It's not a foregone conclusion that they'll come back in and it'll all be rosy again, after all we lost to Kyiv and Larnaca with a full strength squad and none of those 3 really help defending set peices!

In reality tho, Kamada's not down to be back til end of Feb, Munoz may not be 100% for a while out and Sarr could think he's come back from the Afcon and turned up at the wrong club! - I wonder if he's kept up with the goings on whilst out there?

But ultimately, Results Heal Wounds; Even with a fully fit squad we need more than a semi committed manager to turn things round.

I understand Ollie’s frustration, we all know we needed players and it’s frustrating selling our best players, as fans we’re used to it now, but I understand and trust SP who has to run the club and keep us financially secure and competing at the highest level. It’s a shame Ollie’s time is ending this way, but as a club we’ll move on after he’s gone, and we’ll be able to move on because we’ve got a club with a solid foundation, thanks to Parish

Precisely Monkey.

I'd love us to be injury free, heavily investing in the team, watching and winning with glorious Glasnerball.

At this moment in time Glasnerball has become completely ineffective, we don't have the money to just chuck at it, and the man himself has no solutions.

That may change once we have a few players back and God forbid if we do get a couple more in this month however, at this moment in time, OG is not the man for this situation. He'll continue to b!tch about not having the perfect conditions, we'll carry on losing, and he'll be off at the end of the season.

Feels a bit like a waiting game for our player situation to improve and bring the results, or for Parish et al to say aufweidersehen to OG.

Should our torrid run continue with Glasner at the helm and the points gap between ourselves and the relegation zone significantly decreases, I suspect his departure could well be announced before the end of the season.

I do not think we should sack Glasner. For no other reason than if we do it'll cost use money. We do not know the details of Glasner's current contract but you can bet that it includes a package in the event of him being sacked. I'll bet that package is substantially more than just paying off the remainder of his wages as compensation.

I am not privy to such information.
From a club perspective I suppose a revival of our fortunes under Glasner, with us comfortably clear of the relegation zone, and a continuation of his employment to the end of the season is a best-case scenario.
Apropos whether I believe such a scenario will materialise, as they say in Spain " Tengo mis dudas".

Pedant alert - we beat Kyiv but lost to Strasbourg who topped the league table.

3 months means they were high grade jobs. Surprised they let you work the notice. You must have gone down the sliding scale to don’t give a s***.
If it was like for like I’d have had garden leave and it would have been a memorable summer.
I left on good terms but my down time was preparing for the new job. Much perhaps like Glasner and his team

Sounds more likely.

As a sad git who has watched all the Bond movies multiple times, I can confirm you are both on to something. Originally the line was in Roger Moore in The Man With The Golden Gun.

The same punchline (lightly adapted - "we have an old saying" as opposed to "there is a useful four letter word") was recycled by Dalton in The Living Daylights.

Are you related to him? Seriously, the guy is doing everything he can to get himself fired and you still seem to want to support him. He definitely does not want to be at the club any longer. Didn’t he say something along the lines of I may be here I may not, I don’t care?
You obviously only read what you choose to on my posts. I have said more than once that he has tried to get himself sacked. That its for the best he is leaving now.
But lets not start lying. He at no time ever said 'I want to leave this club'. He has definitely insinuated as much but saying he has actually said that makes you look a bit silly as we all know he didn't say that.
I dont want to support him either but people like yourself want a witch hunt. You probably want everyone to boo when he emerges from the tunnel. You think that will get us any points?
My belief is simple and I am very aware many others feel the same.
We cannot control what Parish decides to do.
I want the team to do well. If its decided Glasner stays till the end of the season then we have to accept it. Personally I think bitching and whining about that helps no one. If anything its counter productive. For the record I think keeping him till June is the best thing when it comes to the minimum of disruption. A new guy now would not be a success immediately. Glasner might as he knows these players better than anyone.
I intend to get behind the TEAM. Not Glasner the team. I intend to keep quiet in the stands in terms of 'Glasner reaction' because it will only hurt team performance.
There is a massive difference between supporting him and just not lying about what he has said and slagging the bloke off.

A DOF should not be negotiating the sale of a player that a manager wants to keep. If they are doing so, that signals that they are not working together on such matters.
Dont be ridiculous. The DoF is employed by the club. He does as he is told. If Parish tells him to negotiate a player sale that is none of Glasner's business.
Technically the club are not even under any obligation to even mention it to the manager unless its written into his contract that he has to be told. The player registrations are the property of the club to keep/sell as they wish. They dont need Glasner's permission or even approval.
Players get sold all the time without the manager knowing about it until the deal is agreed.

Glasner needs to go NOW.

He is poison to this club. How can we rebuild with a manager who wants out and has a massive tantrum to move the blame away from himself??

How on earth can he motivate the players - how would those conversations go? He either bullshits them or says ‘yeah I know, it’s rubbish innit; no ambition.’

This doesn’t get better until he’s gone.
