Charlie Hughes

Apparently we are in for Hull City centre back Charlie Hughes. Anyone know much about him? Any good? Does he look like he could step up to the Premier league?
I have had a recent conversation apropos Charlie Hughes.I was informed that he is a ball-playing central defender and is combative but he is not that fleet of foot and this could be a drawback.
Erstwhile Hull manager Tim Walter signed him from Wigan for £3.5 Mill.
Hull are under a transfer embargo but can still sign Free agents or players on 'Loan'.

Central defenders don't have to have the winged sandals of Mercury,As is well known Bobby Moore couldn't catch a bus.

One of my favourite all time palace defenders Andy Thorn wasn’t exactly swift either, but he certainly knew how to time a tackle. When you can read a game as well as he did you didn’t need pace. Obviously it’s different for full backs, but generally a centre back doesn’t need great pace. It’s a bonus with the likes of Billy Gilbert and Marc Guehi

We were linked with him in the summer and so I watched Hull one time when he played. I thought he read the game well and had a good range of passing. Don’t know if he’s had injuries this season as not seen him on a couple of occasions that Hull have been shown live on Sky.

That is very unlucky he has only missed two League games all season perhaps he is telly shy.

Andy Thorn was great at taking the front post for a flick on when we took corners back in the day. Scored a few goals using that method. Like long throws being back again, perhaps we should use that routine using Richard’s or Mateta?

It's strange that that tactic dropped out of favour because a lot a clubs were successful with it.

Also remember the commentary on a season review of 90/91 I think vs Leeds at home we scored from a corner like this referring to eyebrows at the near post, first time I heard that and I love it! Bring it back
