Reform

Mid term polls only shock the politically uninitiated the chance for the world and his wife to have a moan as significant as P***ing in the sea. a bit of fun tho'.

Been doing a bit more research into the poll that showed Rupert Lowe, minus an actual political party, getting 16% is as sketchy as I thought it might be. Seen claims that it had a sample size of less than 50. LOL.

And this is from somebody who will probably only ever visit a polling booth if such a party does come into existance.

Mid term Basil Brush would probably poll well.

Mid term polls maybe but local elections definitely not. That’s why Labour, The Lib Dem’s, The Greens and The Conservatives are so desperate to put them off, because they know Reform will do very well.

Whether a protest vote or not, they do indicate the mood of our population who actually vote.

The current mood without any doubt whatsoever but not the GE in three plus years time every government hands out "sweetners" in the last year budget.

Well yeah.....I read your post on Farage and I don't think you quite get that situation. Maybe you haven't noticed what the Trump relationship is with the right wing in other countries generally.....Trump, isn't actually that right wing, he's more of a right wing Democrat from the 80s (which I suppose is right wing in today's terms) but this disconnect means that.....unless he likes you....that everyone else is competition.....including the right in other countries.

Trump sees the EU negatively, for several reasons, and Brexit was a watershed moment that emboldened many in America during the waning of the Obama administration. Farage was the face of that and they became friends......How well he gets on with you being more important to Trump than political ideology.....it's all about self interest for Trump.

Farage, however has to deal with his real world situation in the UK. While the real right in the UK are anti EU for nationalistic and political reasons that doesn't mean that the US can just militarily threaten a Nato European nation. Throwing tariffs on top of that doesn't improve things.....I agree with the AfD in Germany calling for trade with Russia.....Now that would shut Trump up over Greenland for sure as one of the big gains for the US has been to pull Germany and Russia apart (the general US policy since WW2).

If support for Trump confuses you on the right, then understand that the state of the Democrats is so left wing on social policies that supporting them is out of the question. You may not agree with that but for many of us the Democrats are morally evil on some issues.

But personally I recently think Trump has gone off the rails and I suspect stuff is going on behind the scenes to push back on that.

We will see.
The democrats are lost and have been for some time.

I repeat and genuinely believe there would be a tsunami of support were they led by a charismatic white male.

Instead step forward a DEI candidate who cancel culture will embrace, who BBC correspondents actually w*** while gushing over their qualities but who nobody but a metropolitan core will actually vote for.notwithstanding the Grand Canyon sized open goal created by Trump.

Yep, America is so messed up.

The system is as dysfunction as the old Soviet system was before its collapse. But because there's still a lot of money to be made it'll exist for a while.....unless they actually start fighting each other, which is just as probable.

Well if so, then it didn’t do the Tories any good last time round and it certainly won’t save Labour next time either.

I'm sensing you're a disgruntled Labour supporter.

Labour polled LESS votes in 2024 than they did in 2019.

The issue is not so much any 'sweetners' that can be handed out but rather the fact that people just detest both Labour and the Conservatives. And despite this being patently obvious ever since Brexit (lets not forget that both Labour the Conservative Government of the day were pro-remain), people simply loathe the Uniparty system that has done so much harm to the country.

Not sure they have that much faith in Reform, if truth be told, but they are willing to give it a go.

Nailed it.
I have little faith in Reform. Farage is a show pony, Tice a half-wit and Lee Anderson just comes across as nasty. Reform are pro-corporate power, pro-war, pro ID-card, pro mandatory jabs. The list goes on.
In any normal functioning democracy they should be polling about 12th.

BUT, and this is big 'But', they are still vastly preferable to their main opponents.

Which just shows indicates how unbelievably bad Labour, Tories, Green and Lib-Dems have all become. If UK politics has ever been in a worse state I'd be very surprised. I'd like to think that after the next election, it will never be is such a sorry state ever again.

There's only about three politicians I have any time for at all: George Galloway, Rupert Lowe and Andrew Brigden. The rest are almost all beyond the pale.

Last time it was in such a poor state, The Irish Home Rule party could decide who governed the UK. Yes, that sounds s*** and possibly slightly shitter than now. Depends on your opinion I guess.

Not sure what year that was? But I don't think it does sound shitter than now.

Being dictated to by a foreign government that wants to be free from you is infinitely preferable to being dictated to by outside interests who want to destroy you.

Would this be the same Rupert Lowe who went on a laudable campaign to curb child pornography... but then threatened to sue the government over its campaign to restrict X supporting images of... child pornography.

And I thought Farage was a feather for every wind that blows?

A depressing and cynical view of entrenched vested interests that sadly rings true.

Ha! It doesn't seem to matter how many times I post that I have not voted Labour in decades...

Perhaps that is what a "disgruntled" supporter is. One who has no intention of voting for them.

Would cover almost everyone on this site.
Last time I liked Labour was John Smith. Ever since, I've really not had a party to vote for. We're likely similar.
The current shower can do one.

Disingenuous as ever. You must do better.

And if the SWP don't field a candidate in your constituency you are really screwed. 😀

True story when I was an election officer a woman came up and ripped me a new one because the Greens had not fielded a candidate. I tried to explain that it wasn't my fault but then realised anyone voting for the Greens is an idiot so don't waste your breath. 😀
