Transfer spending over??

Apart from Johnson what's happening with all these players that were linked to us? All I keep hearing of late is how many of our players want to leave or are in talks with other clubs or we've sold.

May as well just sell the whole fekin first team Steve and get some loans in the summer and we can ground share with Bromley when you put Selhurst on Ebay due to rising costs. I for one support Ollie all the way in everything he's said. Should have been supported before October...didn't Parish promise us a new onwards and upwards era in his Selhurst Park speech after the cup "parade"? Feel sorry for OG, made to look the big bad shitester while his lordship comes up smelling of roses again. Living off the club saviour title for too long now in my opinion.
If Ollie had been supported after the Cup we could have been where Villa are now.

Every window our whole team is sold; and every window we sell one key player (who has now gone).

Don't listen to the bloggers. All complete fiction until confirmed on CEEFAX.

Everyone come back transfer deadline day that is when Palace start to move and expect some loans and maybe other players leaving.

People wonder why the manager went off on one and others who had involvement with club said lack of ambition.

Clubs at our level are a bit caught though; the money boys can just buy who they like and the lower league clubs can pick up players fairly easily but for us it's like the housing chain where moves are affected by others up the line. Doesn't explain why so much happens on the last day but it could be an element of who blinks first and clubs wanting to limit others' opportunities in the market. Just a guess.

Net selling club. Don't know what gaps to fill till late.

Prices generally higher early window.

Clubs and players will inflate prices based on real or imagined competition. Waiting through the window puts such assertions to the test. Less or no comp shifts the balance in favour of the buying club.

Ambition or it's absence has little to do with it.

This transfer has also hit the buffers.

Another good excuse for SP to explain lack of signings as yet another one bites the dust:

We're a laughing stock atm!!

Nothing new SP does this every time & what will end up happening we will miss out on the deal or end up paying over what they originally wanted.

I don't like how we have switched to signing these young people for large amounts of money who have done nothing (The ones who have made it at this club had a few years experience at champion sort of level but these new ones don't have near that)

This does show lack of ambition we are not even buying players to compete.

Personally, I don't think the player is what we need for now. Maybe he could be brilliant in a season or two but it's hard to know.
Agreed, but the club have known since the summer we need players, they must of considered MG would be sold, aswell as JP (& Munoz), where is the contingency plan? Transfer strategy? I might be wrong, but surely the club is incharge of deciding the right players for the system we will be playing next season & not the new manager!

Typical SP, excuses, excuses !
Probably, will write this season off thinking we are virtually safe already and agree to allow any new Manager say in who he wants to sign.
What could possibly go wrong??

We bought one player in early, have sold one key player and potentially another key player out the door. Still ravaged by injuries and little sign of anyone coming in. Once again we appear to be happy to write games off, to try and get a bargain or two on deadline day, which often 'can't get over the line'.

It's rinse and repeat every transfer window and SP and the board won't change. Having witnessed the greatest moment in our history, with a successful manager, we still didn't try and capitalise a little (I'm not talking about going mad) on the momentum.

The truth has dawned that the board are happy to exist in this division and that's it. Eventually we will be caught out, circle the drain and go down. It feels like it will happen next season if not this.

Us as fans will have the FA Cup win to look back on when we are at home to Lincoln City in a Championship game.

Parish has more or less admitted as such, if only in different wording. Whatever one may think about Oliver Glasner, he raised the bar by bringing home the silverware and Parish can't match the level of ambition. We peaked, and now now the slide is on. It can either stabilise, given the correct input from all concerned, or spiral out of control to the point where relegation becomes an eventuality.
