Transfer spending over??

Indeed.

Imray's recall suggests that.

Clickbait is saying that we want David from Juventus in a swap deal with JPM. I have only see clips of him but he looks like a similar player physical, and fast. Hopefully that deal can be done.
Bloggers regularly make those swap stories up.

Rarely happen.

why would we buy players, unless OG has gone.
If Ollie sees his contract out he would want to finish on a high note. Consequently winning the Conference League would probably be his main goal. He may be persuasive in getting in the players who he thinks can do that, whether loans or purchases is the only unknown. I know we see the press conference as a breaking point between him and Parish but maybe there is a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.
What is important is that if Ollie is staying that some positive news is announced during the week as I would not want to see a negative reaction from the crowd when Ollie walks onto the pitch against Chelsea.

We have a long standing interest in David from the Freedman days.
We also scouted Johnson when he was at Forest, so another long term interest.
It’s correct to point out manager’s preferences though.
Johnson was a favourite of Ang at Spurs and did well for him.
Frank, however, wanted to go down a different route and preferred the tricky dribbler Kudus in the role.
Our next manager (if already selected) needs to be on board with new signings or we could be wasting money if they do not suit his tactics.

Hope it's not a sign that Ang will be our future manager 🙊

I am not sure how persuasive he can be in getting purchases…..hi I am OG the manager but I will be gone in 4 months time…I’d like you to sign a long term deal though.

I can't see us making any permanent signings for the first team. A youngster "for the future" might work, but at this point, I can't see us doing anything other than loans.

Sadly, I don't think we can loan an entire squad of players. I'm sure Chelsea could spare us a new first eleven.

if there is no money, where has the money from Olise, Eze, Guehi etc etc gone.....new Ferrari perhaps?
Olise and Eze netted us about £110m. We’ve spent £19m on Wharton, £7m on Munoz in the winter before Olise went. We’ve then spent £19m on Canvot £35m on Johnson, £26m on Pinot, £3m on Sosa. Plus we had to cover Kamada at a higher wage.

When you do the maths then over the three year period that the financial rules run over we’ve invested most of our money. The reality is we are a club that needs to sell to buy.

Nketiah, Lacroix, Sarr, Pino, Johnson etc. Unfortunately just because they've not all had the desired impact doesn't mean we don't have to pay the fees. Plus we've not got the Guehi money yet.

I do think we'll sign a couple more players this window, most likely youthful ones who Glasner will refuse to play...I also wouldn't rule out selling Mateta. Journos will be queuing round the corner to get into Glasner's press conference after that happens lol

I’d forgotten about Nketiah!

Good positive thoughts. I really hope you are right. If they can overcome the angst that Glasner rightly feels and somehow pull together we could yet have a good second half. Think positive has to be, it is after all a large part of Palace DNA.

Yes unfortunately it's a reflection on what he's added overall. A stinker of a transfer and big waste of finances. Any time he's shown any sign of promise or form he gets injured.
It was indeed a terrible buy. Somebody with a very mediocre goal scoring record who didn’t fit a system where we play one up top.

It is possible that a new manager will use a new system or change systems frequently.
