Where is Parish?

As a club, we pride ourselves on unity and togetherness, as beautifully illustrated by the wonderful 2025.

Easy to do when things are going well, though. Anyone's true character is demonstrated when things are tough.

Where is the 'club statement'? The website seems to have its fingers in its ears, shouting 'la-la-la, can't hear you', suggesting they have been embargoed, or worse, blindsided.

Shouldn't Parish be reassuring everyone that a plan is already in place, transfers are incoming, and all is well?

While it's gutting that Glasner didn't want to stay, I don't begrudge his ambition. Guehi had clearly outgrown us, but now Mateta wants out, too? Why is that? I don't see it happening at any other mid-table club, certainly not one on the up, as we recently were.

Is it just a coincidence or a greater malaise? The core of the cup-winning team could all be gone, and yet the club says nothing.

This does not fill me with confidence and certainly does not demonstrate the unity and togetherness that are the hallmarks of our great club, and that OG enhanced so well.

Come on Steve...

Any of them that want to go can f*** right off in my opinion. I'm sick of hearing about the greedy fuckers. If you want to go: get out of our club!
Mateta's done nothing for ages plus he's not getting younger. Sell him. Guehi going anyway. But to be fair I'd be kicking Glasner out on Monday and putting Paddy in temporary charge.

I have been contacted today on this matter, one person articulating "Silent as a grave" etc.
Perhaps a firestorm of speculation brewing !

I totally agree with you. I think Parish is doing a decent job but the lack of communication is deafening. Nothing on the club news page . He needs to make a statement now before the Sunderland game. The likes of Brighton and Bournemouth seem to find foreigners who can do a decent job so you would think we will find the right guy. I’m more concerned with the blatant ‘come and buy Mateta’ message. Right now the best finisher who knows the league and is available is Callum Wilson and we should guarantee him the games he wants and rejig the forwards with perhaps Starr up front and sell JP. Get in a manager and players who want to be here .

There is probably a gentleman’s agreement between Steve and Ollie…get knocked out of the Conference League and Steve will probably wield the P45.
It’s in both of their interests to do well in that competition; increases Ollie’s value for his next application, and we get another trophy. That would be 3 inside 12 months - why wouldn’t everyone be happy with that?
Mateta wants World Cup football and his performance previously got him that place; he’s fallen back and thinks he could shine again somewhere else. This is his gamble to take if palace get the right price.

I was thinking the same. Steve needs to show his face and give us a bit of insight and reassurance we are not blowing our chances of pushing on and instead going backwards. Over to you steve

Not blowing our chances has long since sailed. Our chances have busted all over our face, cleaned off, zipped up and moved onto the next ugly munter by now. We are where we were when Roy had to step in to keep us up. And yet last May we won the FA Cup. It beggars belief.

After the presser dummy spit and Glasner saying he doesn’t care if he’s fired , Steve is probably checking Glasners contract for behaviour clauses to see if he can fire him without compensation .

That dummy spit in the middle of a transfer window seems like a deliberate attack to undermine the club . Disgusting .

Total loss of respect for OG . Will be disappointed if he’s still coach come
Monday , but if he is , there will be a reason .

I would think Parish will be talking to the lawyers about agreeing some amount of money for OG to take when he tells him can leave hopefully tomorrow
I agree. Not just about money but checking every clause in the contract before formalising something. I would hope there would be a non disclosure agreement which would stop any more of the kind of nonsense we saw tonight.

That takes time, but I expect he was on the phone to the lawyers as soon as he heard the things Glasner said and that they were on the phone to Glasner immediately afterwards warning him not to say any more.

All this bile against Glasner, but what if he is right? And I suspect that a lot of us think he is.

He suggests that the "powers that be" - that's Parish are happy just to not be relegated each year and I think he is right. What ambitious manager is going to stay at a club like that? What is the point of a £200+ million stand (not ground) if we can't fill it? We have sold Olise, Andersen, Eze and Guehi since Glasner arrived. With the exception of Munoz and Lacroix we have replaced them largely with punts and potential.

Glasner seems particularly upset he was only told one day before the Sunderland game that Guehi would ge going. It sounds like the same situation with Eze. We know we are a selling club but where is the succession planning or any form of planning?

In my 53 years of supporting, I think Glasner is the best manger we have had. Lanzo says he is a"one trick pony" but what a trick!

None of us know, but I suspect Glasner was assured of player investment that would move us out of the 12th-16th range every year.

I thought Glasner spoke with a passion and honesty that we can only dream of from the Palace hierarchy.
