Glasner Out

The impact this could have on the rest of the transfer window and season is worrying.

Who will want to sign/renew contract?

Would have been better in February announcing this or leaving now.

All the best to him, it’s been a fantastic journey but now it comes to an end and I think that is best for all involved. A big summer ahead for us hopefully with a new main stand construction being underway. Let’s hope we can finish the season with more special life time memories

Maybe it didn’t. I think it was probably always his plan to leave. Follows his approach at other clubs. He’s not had a long tenure anywhere and always looked to move on to bigger things.
 
Disappointing. Must have something lined up. His stock isn't great at the moment. Bad run of form. Called the board out for transfers then admitted that he said he was fine with the squad. Doesn't seem to stay at any club more than 2 years.

Also leaves us in a difficult position with transfers and contracts, though I suppose at least we have time to scout out his replacement.

Guehi and Glasner off, Mateta and Munoz wanting out. It never lasts does it 🤣
 
I think everyone on this website would feel disappointed, but not shocked by the news. He never stays long at any club, so this was always to be expected.

As always, being a Palace fan - you tend to accept the good and bad times.

The writing was on the wall when he said he hasn't had time to discuss it. How long does a contract renewal take?!

He stated categorically that he hasn't spoken to any other clubs and I believe him as he's shown over his time with us that he is truthful in what he says.

If he doesn't have a new club lined up, then he may actually have more incentive for us to succeed, as he has no fall back. Time will tell how it affects the players, but I think they'll get over it fairly quickly.
 
I was saying to someone a few months back that all this success felt a bit unsettling as a Palace fan…. seems like in the last few weeks normal service has been resumed. Nonetheless, can’t take away that last May we won the FA Cup - thanks Oliver and Marc, and others that may now be on their way.

There will be more and better managers in the summer. Glasner was our third choice originally. Others have seen what a club like ours can achieve so there will be queue around the block with their applications. However, Xabi Alonso won the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen, a club not much bigger than Palace. He is free and gets my vote if OG goes now.
 
Whilst I'm a little baffled about the need to announce it now. Its still in Glasners best interest to finish on a high.

If we finish well and win the CL he'll look like a genius. Get knocked out early and limp over the line and that FA cup will look like a fluke.
