FA Cup 3rd Round Macclesfield

The lacking bench where he brought on a premier league left back, midfielder and an international who has combined transfer fees of £80m? That lacking bench?

If tactics don’t matter then how come Macclesfield were clearly prepared for ours and had their own ones worked out to counter them. How come we changed ours at halftime? If they don’t matter then why bother?

Sorry this game is all one everyone involved in the first team. Manager, players and coaches.

Those people was on on bench because he started a bunch of kids.

Some people on here are so dumb.

If the manager had the players he would have switched even more but he can't why because he has not been backed.

This is what happens Steve Parish when you don't give the manager any new players in a European season especially after selling Eze. They are injured and the ones who aren't are knackered! Oh and is this supposed to be the cream of the Academy?
There is definitely criticism to be levelled at the board for the summer window and lack of squad investment. However I am not having that as an excuse for today. We weren’t playing a Championship team we were playing semi pros. One of our first team players is paid more in a week than the whole of their squad. We should have more than enough to comfortably win against them. That we didn’t just lose but were outplayed and out competed is 100% on the players and the manager.

Looking back (in horror) several major discrepancies in our game.
1. Poor ball control
2. Too much haste
3. Very poor balls into the box
4. Failure to adapt to the surface
5. Uche is not a forward
6. Wharton did not take control
7. Benitez not bothering with a cap
8. Players not taking it seriously and apparently indifferent

9,10,11 etc - you add your views. In summary: humiliation

it would be laughing at them. 😁
What a totally inept and shockingly bad game from OG and all the players. Just turning up expecting to win clearly.
Yes. The level of condescension and disrespect for the opposition in the starting line-up was very clear. This one is on Glasner.
I think he has had his time, and change is due. Also the signings at the end of the last campaign were pure smoke and mirrors.

Even our best players looked as if they were just going through the motions – because they were just going through the motions. They're human. They're mentally exhausted. They only came to life when Pino's sole moment of good football – perhaps our only moment of quality of the entire match – rekindled their spirits.

To be honest, I'm impressed that we played as well as we did against Villa, given our recent form due to the absence of Muñoz, Sarr, Kamada, and Richards. It's the beauty of football, as compared with other sports, that a lowly team such as Macclesfield can actually have a chance against a "lofty" one such as ours.

I think we were set up wrong. And I'm not going to change that opinion. The players should be good enough but an unhelpful set of tactics will diminsh that. Especially when the other team gets it right.

The midfield was too light. Rodney was doing OK but got subbed - even though Pino offered nothing.
Should have started 4-4-2, won the midfield battles and bossed the game.
I love Ollie but it's extremely worrying how easy it is to play against us with a low block. Subs were bizarre, leaving the worst players on.
Embarrassing 😳.

They don't when you play a team at this level so run along and go educate yourself.

This was the players at fault it had been proven when he even replaced people and they still did f all.

but in your mind tactics no matter the players will trump anything yeah ok.

Conference level teams are nothing like this team like I said before you have 0 clue what you are talking about.

Use your brain just take a look at the lacking bench that is a big issue yet people still keep ignoring the manager has not been backed and next look at the performance that is all on the players.
Glasner can never do wrong in your eyes can he?

Been outside playing Pond Hockey with my 5yr old so only saw the 2nd half.

I'm not even mad, that was funny.
Utd would be mad to go for Glasner.

Stop with the unnecessary insults.

Blaming losing to a semi pro team on squad depth is ridiculous. There was more than enough there in our team to have won that if the mindset and preparation was right. We fielded a starting line up with 7 internationals in it for goodness’s sake.

No It wont complete over reaction you must have seen our games in the 70's and 80's. The main thing is the league, cups are nice to win but our league position is what counts.
I have witnessed games going back to the 60s but today's result against lowly opposition is the worst that I can recall.
A PL team playing non-league outfit, 6 levels below us.Absolutely unacceptable.
😡 😡
