Transfer Window.

I am told that Brennan Johnson has a tremendous turn of pace and a couple of seasons ago recorded the fastest time in the PL, just shy of 23 MPH.
I recall a few seasons ago being informed that Neil Warnock was impressed by him commenting that he is a player who gets fans off their seats when he has the ball.
I am somewhat surprised at the reported £35 Million !!
Me too Willo - think there were better and cheaper options out there - Bobb for example..!!

My question is if we had £35M to spend - why wasn't it invested in the summer window..?? If we'd have bought in a few more quality recruits in the summer we would probably still be top 4 - that's what frustrates me with Parish - he only spends when our backs are to the wall - and that is costing us big time..!!

Beyond that we still need a right back and a CDM and we've just burned £35M..!!

Booey going to cost us c.£15M, Atletico want £50M for Gallagher, even Hackney would cost us c.£25M ..!!

So £75M - best ways..!!

If we do it - yes I'd be happy - but adds more to my questions - if we had the money why wasn't it invested in the summer window - if it had been things would have looked so different now and Glasner would have probably signed his extension..!!

I guess only SP can answer those questions..!!

Now that Odegard and Saka are in harness again at Arsenal there is no room for Eze in the team as another ball player in attacking midfield.
He may well be confined to the bench, at least for the serious games, with his starts confined to the likes of Burnley and Wolves.
I know there were a few on here that foresaw that potentially happening.
A shame for him, but Arsenal are first and foremost a workmanlike team, and he won't be excused the occasional switch offs which he was sometimes guilty of with us.
He's no longer the big fish in the small pond that he was with us.

A cynical b****** may even suggest they signed him just to prevent him from going to their arch rivals!
I hope we have a sell-on clause!

We chased Sarr for a long time and myself rated him then at watford , same with Johnson I rate him , he not getting in franks line up thoughts , I think he will fit in very easily with us , get him by the 2nd or 3rd of jan to get our window moving , then 2 more by mid jan at the latest , hopefully munoz wont be far from returning and Senegal are out of Africon yes its cruel on Sarr but needs must ,

Brennan Johnson is great for running in behind if a team is playing a high line. Excellent pace.

He is a great finisher. Makes intelligent runs and gets on the end of things. Two footed finishing as well, but right footed.

Negatives: his crossing is suspect, very inconsistent. The other main issue for me is he struggles to beat a man. He doesn't have a trick or feint to beat someone like a Grealish. This is probable the main problem. He will get the ball and if it is a low block play it back to the fullback or go sideways.

I think that's why they play the other wingers at Tottenham, despite Johnson's excellent scoring record.

He is more a wide forward, definitely not a winger really.

He may frustrate us sometimes, but he will get goals and be a threat. I approve overall with those caveats
Frank plays with wingers and having spent a fortune on Kudoz while also having Kulusevski to return, Johnson is surplus to requirements given the limitations you outline. Palace don’t currently play with wingers so he’s clearly seen as a right sided 10 in the Sarr mode. It’s also worth noting that Sarr did play on the left at times for Watford so there’s an option to have both in the team on occasion. £35 million is not bad for a player who has shown he can score goals.

True and I thought he had gone off the boil before he joined us. But he has gotten better and better in a system which suits him.

I think the same could be the case with Brennan Johnson - it's a yes from me.

I'd like us to sign Sunderland's chief scout/DOF.
They changed out 9 players from the team that got promoted to create a brand new team that has competed brilliantly in the Premier League.
They lost I think 5 players to AFCON and yet they continue seamlessly with outstanding athleticism and organisation.
They have a brilliant centre back and possibly the signing of the season in Xhaka who has controlled the midfield in each game I've seen him feature.
They seem to have a deeper squad than we do.

Lets see what they do over the next few seasons first.

They did have a lot of ££££ to play with this is something people forget about.
