I think there's some worthy criticism here.....I think the plan under Trump is to bully and threaten using the US military to enrich the US at the expense of others.....For that they need the military at high levels and that approach can justifiably be criticised.

I hadn't realised that fishermen used high powered speed boats to blast their way north at night.

I'm sure the motive is entirely false flag, but don't try to tell us they're out fishing

Yes the whole Trump class battleship is imaginary, but the USN needs decent frigates and they have screwed up in their selection and design of late so it's good to see them getting their s*** together.

It surprises me that they don't do a zig zag.....though I know nothing about that for a speed boat, probably dangerous itself.

Or maybe we aren't seeing those that did it and where missiles missed......Though if it's heat seeking missiles I don't suppose any zig zagging is going to help.
 
They are using Hellfire missiles. They won't even know they are going to be hit and even if they did zigzagging won't help. Hellfire uses laser guidance, so a targeting pod from the launch vehicle (likely an MQ9 Reaper), and/or radar guidance on the seeker itself. Once the target is locked it is going to get hit, there's no escape.

The trump lot offer no evidence they are narco boats .On one occasion ,after initial atrack ,they blasted the two poor sods who were hanging on to the wreckage .

Trump pardons Silk Road founder who ran a dark web drug import empire ! Because his mother is a donor .
As mentioned before pardons Orlando Hermandez of Honduras .
Trump undermines the whole USA justice system .

I agree with your assessment largely, that large ships aren't the answer but it isn't proven currently. Aircraft carriers for instance are operating mainly due to the capability of their planes. Jets can take out targets of 20cm or more in general. So can modern point defence systems and missile systems. It's the radar and targeting that counts.
However, just to let you know that if you look into it, they are going to build loads of the coastal size vessels too - as advised.

Surely these days the command centre can be in a bunker deep in a US desert? The point the ex military commanders made is that they would be easily identified sitting targets and unable to manoeuvre swiftly to avoid missile attacks or be overpowered by mass drone attacks.

My point was that they look like another vanity project by Trump. Hugely expensive, bearing his name, like the new “Triumphal Arch”, the White House “ballroom” and the renamed Kennedy Centre.

undermining your justice system by pardonning drug dealers and narco politicians ,and not offering due process to ‘suspected drug traffickers ‘.

Kind of strange that they killed the two sods who held onto the boat .Wouldn’t want to take them in alive ,might just be fishermen after all .
