It's all vague speculation used for political purposes. It can be argued that anyone alive at the time contributed to post-war reconstruction.

Looks like the Tesla share price is back doing well. I vaguely remember a load of hullabaloo posts earlier this year about Tesla tanking and it wouldn't be recovering.....it's currently trending at 488 USD.

It's looks like it's the best price in 5 years. It seems to have started to recover when after the "argument" and musk got back to focusing on his companies. 😅

Musk is at the forefront of emerging technologies and the best minds want to work for him.

Those who bet against Musk are either doing it because they don't like his politics and/or doing it for political or anti transhumanism/modernism reasons or......or just aren't that bright.

The AI bubble might burst.....because of overvaluation but while Musk is leading I understand why his companies are over invested in......He's the leader of the future tech coming out of the US.

He's a Steve Jobs type figure, just with more important tech and products.

People who come from under performing nations can be talented, but it's going to be the exception rather than the rule for obvious reasons.

The statistics on the economic outcomes of immigration from different countries doesn't lie.

Non European immigration into the country should only be done on an exceptional basis.

But we are where we are.....that horse bolted a long time ago. I hope for the day where those responsible answer for it.

This video shows Trump doing what he's best at, identifying problems and cracking heads to demand they are solved.

There's plenty for the right to be annoyed, if not dismayed with Trump at the moment. But this kind of stuff is the tough businessman side of him and frankly it's what America needs rather than the decline they were getting.

My beef is that we the people were never asked about mass immigration and I don't believe we needed it then and now. However the establishment is pushing the lie that these people rebuilt this country and therefore we owe them and their families. It's the same lie they push when the BBC does historic drama. They were not here in sufficient numbers to make a difference.

I have no doubt that individuals make a contribution to this country but that's what you get paid for. My dad started work in the late forties when he was 14 and then did his National Service for 2 years. Lots of men will have similar stories don't we owe them something? Didn't they re-build the country.

The Establishment never said to my father or his children (me) we owe you. quite the reverse they betrayed my father's generation and they continue to do so.

The Epstein file release prove that if anything the entire intel/security apparatus needs to be combed through and that officials going back to the Obama administration needs to be prosecuted, through Biden, through Trump.

Those who were called conspiracy theorists have been proven to actually be the only ones who cared about the truth.
 
I'm inclined to think there are many many big money people who have orchestrated destruction of evidence. Firewalls are already in place to protect those still in power positions
The dripping of information is probably to throw a couple of low-flyers under the wheels of the bus.
This is conspiracy which goes right through the US and UK Government and Royalty. People will only know what they are allowed to know.

Not just called conspiracy theorists, this type of reasoning proves it beyond any doubt whatsoever.

Recent posts in this thread have been nothing but conspiracy theories piled on top of each other. To suggest that equals proof or truth proves only that the age of the conspiracy theory is alive and well and that the deluded continue to spread them.

If you swallow this bs then you deserve the pain that follows.

These ships will never be built. They are just another Trump distraction designed to remove the focus from the reality of the situation. Calling them the Trump class battleship ought to be the clue. He will probably want there to be a golden figurehead of him on the prow. The programme will quietly be cancelled when he leaves office.

I heard two ex US navy Commanders interviewed on this yesterday. They were scathing about the idea. Battleships are 50 years out of date. They are just huge targets in modern warfare, which is increasingly fought with drones, both airborne and seabourne. They argued that new ships are needed, but small, super fast vessels. Lots of them.

If you look into it they are building these as flagships, command centres, I suspect mainly helicopter and missile platforms. Looking at them they may hold 100+ attack helicopters and a couple of thousand marines.
I agree with your assessment largely, that large ships aren't the answer but it isn't proven currently. Aircraft carriers for instance are operating mainly due to the capability of their planes. Jets can take out targets of 20cm or more in general. So can modern point defence systems and missile systems. It's the radar and targeting that counts.
However, just to let you know that if you look into it, they are going to build loads of the coastal size vessels too - as advised.
