It was a bit different playing the youngsters in a game where one way or another we were going through as apposed to a cup quarter final against arguably the best team in the country at the moment. Although they’d probably have a bit more energy and fight in them than the first team did last night…….before Arsenal eventually put 5 or 6 passed them🤣

I never really expect us to beat Arsenal and after yesterdays performance I now not only expect to loose - but probably loose badly. my only hope is they saw yesterdays Leeds game and have now decided to rest all their first team squad and play their youngsters - we may only just loose by one then !
A full strength Arsenal against an injury depleted Palace is likely to end only one way.
Time to to avoid further injuries to our paper thin squad and play the academy team.

That I just don`t understand. It is a quarter final in a major domestic competition that we have never won, with a final at Wembley and a European place for the winners. Just imagine being the current holders of 3 of the 4 big domestic trophies at the same time.
There is no guarantee that we will make the quarter final stage in any other competition, therefore in my view it should be our priority whilst we remain in the Carabao.

What I still prefer to call the League Cup is of no real significance so, for me the result will be inconsequential. What I can safely predict though, is that there will be fire and brimstone erupting on here after the game is over.

Arsenal very likely to field the B team but with top dogs on the bench. Whoever they play I hope there's an excess of complacency. That must help us. I'll buck the trend and go for a backs to the wall 1-0 smash and grab.

Last season we got c.£135 million from our position in the premier.
We got £2 million for winning the FA cup!!!
About £10 million for the conference for the winner.
Carabao cup £100k for the winner. Laughable. One week's salary for Kamada.
So the Premier is our priority by a country mile. End of.

So using your way of thinking, that EVERYTHING is about the money.
I can imagine laying on my death bed, one of my grand kids asking about what happened at Wembley in 2025 and me cutting them short to talk about selling Raki Saki for £4 million and it being twice as important as the FA Cup win.
They will never let any of us see/use the money. All about the football and trying to create some memories.

The Premier league figure includes television money, the FA cup and Carabao does not, admittedly not a huge difference.
I think there are four aspects to this:
- Financial a place higher in the Premier league is worth more than winning a domestic cup. However, Chelsea made £23 million from the conference league last year. So qualifying for Europe then making progress in that competition would be the equivalent of finishing several places higher.
- Memories for us as fans. Winning the FA Cup was priceless, winning the community shield continued the theme. A potential semi final second leg at Selhurst, maybe a final with a trophy lifted would be remembered for far longer than finishing 10th or 9th.
- Profile for those outside the club. Yeremy Pino`s introduction video included his speech to his team mates which Speroni translated, it included lets win more trophies. Doing well in cups, qualifying for Europe raises our profile. It might be the difference between a player choosing us rather than West Ham.
- Squad resources. Players win games, teams win cups and squads win league titles. Our first choice team on their day can beat anyone but injuries, bad luck out of form means a 10th place finish would be a fabulous achievement.

Revenue isn't the prize money. The game is broadcast around the world. I watched the final in China many years back. It's about indirect corporate revenue.
