War in Ukraine

Did the UK Govt ever actually get any of the Russian funds, capital or interest on the supposed frozen billions in UK banks.

I doubt they did, it was a sound bite, but if they did, what happens when the war finishes? Are the accounts unfrozen? Will there be legal action by the account holders to recover any monies taken?

As far as I know, some already had to be handed back. It couldn't just be used. There is legal action.

They basically just did a highway robbery, because 'Russians'.

I doubt those people will ever get their money back.
It's a dangerous precedent and one that is already happening on European domestic fronts as well.
Enoch Burke had his banks emptied in Ireland for his gender-critical views. Canadian truck protesters had their bank accounts frozen. At least one western journalist also had their accounts frozen for reporting honestly about Ukrainian atrocities in the Donbass.

But hey, look over there at Putin, isn't he awful.

It's a lesson in real power and how real power doesn't care about laws.

For me it's a mixed bag.....I think Russian money, like the Saudi money and a lot of the high roller money moving around in London is mostly criminal in nature (around about fifty percent of all high wealth has elements of criminality connected to it...a lot of money gets creamed off the top and in London it's 'cleaned', the usual bullshit).

These wankers buy up rich property and leave it vacant and use the nice areas of London (built by far better generations) like a play area.

So I can't say I weep for the confiscation of the money from some of these......foreign stakeholders.

But it wasn't done out of principle and it wasn't done legally.....it's like everything that happens from the top.....they pass the laws that essentially have vague enough language to justify anything they want to do.

Only the poor or unimportant get held to any principles or standards.

Regardless the European leaders are now scurrying around trying to wangle anything like policy that matches their ridiculous prior commitments.....As predicted they have been left carrying the bag.....A bag of their own making.

All they do is worsen the countries they lead.

I support their right to self determination and defence of their own borders. I find it incredible that you are cool with Putin's deliberate destruction of civilian buildings to kill non combatants yet are pro Palestine and dead against the Israeli campaign, our ally.

Like I said, it's treasonous behaviour
