It’s clear the players are knackered. Maxince has played the most minutes of any player in the top 5 leagues and the other members of the back line can’t be far behind.
What I don’t understand is we have a double pairing in the centre of midfield that could easily be used to give the other duo a break. I don’t understand why for the league we start Wharton and Hughes and in Europe we start Lerma and Kamada. Surely as this is the engine this would make more sense.
Also how bad is Esse showing in training that Uche gets in ahead of him?
We better sort something soon because we will lose Sarr in a month and that is a big threat gone.

It felt like he is pissed off and wanted to lash out. Found an easy target but he went down in my estimation with that.

Not quite what I saw, until maybe November Wharton was struggling with injury and people on here were calling for Glasner to sacked
It improved after that with that being the best combo, but by end of March Kamada got up to speed and Wharton/Kamada were the better combo. I thought Kamada was brilliant at the Wembley games.
Thats where we are now.

Missing 3 goldplated chances in the first half was a game changer for ManU, I don't know whats happened to Mateta but he couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo.
Started well even ended with a better Xg than United but by the end of the first half I felt they looked leggy
15mins into the 2nd I could only see it going one way as they lacked the necessary energy, I know they played midweek but I hope Glasner takes that into account in training and doesn't drive them too hard
The goals went in and our subs come on, they are competent but not capable of recovering that situation, you kind of knew where it was going after an hour
Very disappointed with Glasners speech, he knows who we are and knew before he came. We cannot pay enough to trump the ambition of players like Eze and Geuhi, those players want a bucket load of cash, champions league and England. Palace need the dosh to maintain the status quo.
His speech effectively criticises players as not being good enough, hardly confidence building, its also an outrageous message to other clubs that he's available.
On the other hand Parish has done wonders helping to save Palace from liquidation and careful management to take us beyond our size.

Sure, but if he were to have a 100% success rate with all the players he encounters he'd be the messiah. Needless to say he's managed to steer the club to a record EPL points total, two trophies, a place in Europe, and also (take note Steve Parish) increased the market value of virtually all of our first team, through success on the pitch and by nomination for international duty. Olise, French international, plays for one of the best teams in Europe now, Eze, England international, plays for the best team in England now = over £100m for those two alone. Mateta, now part of the French team, Wharton, selected for England. Guehi, England's number 1. All players who have improved under Glasner's guidance. When I think of previous managers I can think of some players going backwards, none improved.
He'll go, and Parish will have to think long and hard why he didn't back the club's most successful manager to the hilt.

The bigger problem for me is the 11 we started with on Thursday. Strasbourg looked better because we were knackered and missed easy chances. We really should have started Nketia at CF and had Devenny at left wing back. Even Munoz could have not started Thursday. We have Clyne who could have started for him. These guys left out would then have been fresher today. I think with rotation we could have won or drawn these last two matches. Matteta needs now to be on the bench this Wednesday. He is shattered and he’s confidence is low. But that won’t happen and we / him will suffer again. Glasner not Parish is the problem in that he won’t rotate other than a small number of players on the bench. I like Glasner but we are now struggling due to he’s stubborness to rotate/make substitutions. If we lose because of playing knackered players now then what’s the difference playing players out of favour by Glasner and losing as is now happening?
I think it is a good sign that he has lashed out,if he stayed quiet I would be more concerned.
What is becoming patently obvious is we have developed into a one-speed team using the same predictable tactics with free kicks and set pieces. Everything is by the aerial route - no one in midfield will hold the ball and bring it forward - it is all one-touch at speed and usually inaccurate. Our deterioration in second halves is due to this hell-for-leather attitude - we are just not fit or young enough to maintain it.
Strasbourg set the template by being fit and fast, a predominantly young team who kept going and wore us down.

Pino is a decent player, still adapting to the PL but is no replacement. We need a ball playing No.10 to work with Wharton who is being dragged down by our kick and rush tactics

Yes...and that period was gloriously successful. Agreed...Kamada played well at Wembley. Two games. We're now six months down the line and we need to revert back to what achieved us so much success last season...because back then we were keeping clean sheets and hard to beat...because we had a combo of solidity and guile in the middle. Now Wharton is doing both jobs on his own...and running out of steam.

We are losing because we are playing too many matches especially Thursday followed by weekend games. Our small number of players selected are knackered :-(
