49 years ago…was Farage arrested for his actions? If you heard the lunchtime news on Radio 4 there was a GP interviewed who was at school with Farage. He was a compelling witness who said he had been telling others about Farage’s behaviour ever since he first became a public figure.
His account was pretty damning. He said what Farage did wasn’t just schoolboy banter and pranks. It was obviously a deeply felt belief. Mocking those with coloured skins, or were Jewish. Goose stepping around the playground etc. He was treated as a pariah by most of the others.
Farage was then interviewed and pointedly declared that none of it was personal. He did not though deny they were his beliefs, either then or now. Then clips were played of previous interviews when this subject came up. His answers then weren’t the same as they were today.
A supporter was then interviewed who characterised this simply as a smear campaign. Which it may well be. The problem for Farage though is these smears have the look of reality and that’s going to hurt.

Ah, but did they edit what he said?If you heard the lunchtime news on Radio 4 there was a GP interviewed who was at school with Farage. He was a compelling witness who said he had been telling others about Farage’s behaviour ever since he first became a public figure.

I heard he tried to convince Akela to let his cub pack invade Russia during Bob-a-Job week.I heard he scratched a swastika on his desk with a compass.

Twenty people have attested to his racial abuse whilst a teenager at Dulwich College. This carries i believe a possible maximum sentence of seven years such a sentence would disbar him from standing at the GE. No one should minimise racial abuse and call it nasty words.

It was neither such an issue then nor was the issue of him being a possible PM known.49 years ago…was Farage arrested for his actions?
Since then was Charles Lynton arrested for allegedly ‘cottaging’ in a public toilet?

Things have changed for sure.I recall comedy TV shows n the 1970's using words like ****, and deriding Jewish folk for having big noses and deep pockets. Most women in these shows exhibited ample cleavage and were regularly seen bending over in tight shorts.
But I'm not trying to wreck anyone's political career

Perhaps because racism, both intentional and unintentional, is now recognised as being much more common and deeply embedded in society?to be accused of being a racist. Its now more common than tapping your Oyster card at a train station. Maybe Sadiq Khan can encrypt some software into the barriers ? Hence to do the two simultaneously ?
You are so right Benny Hill cancelled, Jim Davidson, cancelled because it happened PM that is previous to Maggie your not affected just cancelled. *Newsflash* we do NOT have a statute of limitations basically if you do the crime you serve the time.I recall comedy TV shows n the 1970's using words like ****, and deriding Jewish folk for having big noses and deep pockets. I've never heard of him ...a friend of yours sounds like a nice man.49 years ago…was Farage arrested for his actions?

That’s not the point though. It’s whether Farage has and the jury is out on that!

True we do not have a statue of limitations but I still cannot see this ever happening. You are so right Benny Hill cancelled, Jim Davidson, cancelled because it happened PM that is previous to Maggie your not affected just cancelled. *Newsflash* we do NOT have a statute of limitations basically if you do the crime you serve the time.
Many things that happen are thought of as being ridiculous. Andrew being thrown out of the royal family, war in Europe,Trump being elected, terrorists attacking New York.Always expect the unexpected as it has a tendency of happening. If Farage is to face charges (ridiculous not going to happen) he should do so in a Juvenile Court which he was at the time. It kinda makes sense as most politicians are just big kids anyway. 😀

With the delays in the Courts he would probably have been voted out by the time a case came to trial. If Farage is to face charges (ridiculous not going to happen) he should do so in a Juvenile Court which he was at the time. It kinda makes sense as most politicians are just big kids anyway. 😀

That though is the real issue. In my first job some 60 years ago I worked with an older man who was very anti semitic and I'm afraid that I ended up believing a lot of the rubbish that he spouted including the fact that Jews effectively ran the country and were responsible for all that was bad. At the time I'd never met a Jew and didn't actually know much about them apart from what he told me.
It's not a view that I held for long and I would hate to be held to account for a view that I held as an 18 year old that I disavowed very soon afterwards
