Excellent take on it. Second highest incompetent or corrupt, means no one notices first highest incompetent liar. Rayner has already been sacrificed to keep the goat alive. Now it's Reeve's turn.Well, the budget is due tomorrow. Reeves always looks like she's scared , or about to cry. She is mentally, well out of her depth, and she knows it.
Her pre-budget comments of "we must stick together" and "the budget is a whole package, not a pick n mix. You can't have the coca-cola bottles and leave out the fruit salads". Well the second statement says much about her mentality.
Good job Farage isn't giving pre-budget statements...."You can't mix the white mice with the blackjacks"
Every day Reeves job is seemingly hanging by a thread. It's only because she takes the light away from Starmer and his sexual preferences, it's useful to have her taking all the flack

Sorry for the delay - missed thisUnder your section 24 in your example you get to clear the mortgage after say 25 years with a -£20 monthly loss after £100 maintenance costs so this may have been in the previous government’s thinking.
In this new proposal of a -£92 monthly loss it suggests there’s been no thinking behind it. Unless it is to nudge properties into hands that will use them for illegal migrants.

From chaos comes order. You will accept anything to get order; digital ID being the one that will be pushed the hardest. You will have no money to enjoy and you will be poor and the government will tell you that you are happy…The only saving grace in this whole circus is that it might actually be a “better the devil you know” situation, because the rest of the Labour Party makes her look like the sensible one. That’s how grim it’s getting. Some of these characters are so far off the deep end they’re making the Greens look fiscally conservative, which I didn’t think was possible without the use of hallucinogens.
Torsten Bell, the man apparently constructing most of the Budget while treating small businesses like an administrative nuisance. He wants dividends taxed at 20% at the basic rate. If you follow the maths through, that puts higher-rate dividend tax at around 50%, which shoves my own effective rate to about 70% on anything above £50,000. Its already 60%.
Seventy percent. At that point, it’s not taxation, it’s politely-worded extortion. HMRC might as well set up a direct debit for my entire income and send me a fridge magnet once a year as thanks.
None of the political options look remotely appealing. It’s like being forced to pick between who is going to cheer you up in hospital and there are three choices.
one is holding a cigar
one used to be a price
and the other is playing a digeridoo.
Either way you are getting f***ed. If he ends up running the show, whatever tiny scraps of economic growth we have left will disappear faster than my patience during Budget week.
The alternative is a general election where the country somehow talks itself into landing Nigel Farage in a government role I’m not voting Reform. I think he actually makes a few good points but a party needs a functioning machine, experience, and at least a vague idea what governing looks like. Half their people seem reasonable enough, the other half look like they were assembled from the YouTube comment section at 3am.
So where does that leave the vaguely sane?
I can’t vote Labour because they’re fiscally incompetent and seem allergic to the concept of not ruining small businesses.
I can’t vote Conservative because they are done.
I can’t vote Reform for reasons listed above.
I can’t vote Lib Dem because they appear to live in a parallel universe.
I can’t vote Green because I haven’t had a lobotomy.
Meanwhile, the “established elite” keep lecturing us about “business,” as if it’s one giant blob rather than millions of people drowning in bureaucracy, rising costs, and tax rates
Employees pay 42% at higher rate. Self-employed pay 42%. I run a limited company because I don’t fancy losing my house when someone else makes an error, which means I’m taxed at 60% above £50,000 already. And now we’re staring down suggestions that could drag that towards 70%. Government says £45,000 is “well-paid.” They should try running a business on that, while juggling HMRC filings, Companies House nonsense, insurance, compliance, payroll, clients, and the joy of having zero safety net.
If they keep tightening the screws on SMEs, they won’t just slow the economy. They’ll kill it, bury it, and then wonder why it happened.

Well it seems that the Daily Mail ,every man and his dog know what's in the budget and has gone out of their way to damn it as this that or the other, I don't know any budget details and will listen to it tomorrow and judge it for myself and try to work out the effects on the country and how it affects me. Since Hugh Dalton in 1947 there have been no budget leaks he resigned even though the leak was unintended.I shall be watching the Budget with a coterie of Conservatives and will spend time afterwards discussing the implications.Without a shadow of doubt Reeves and Labour will be on the end of unrelenting inventive, ordure raining in akin to Tomahawk missiles.
As my time will be spent in their esteemed company for a considerable length of time engaging in internal and external discussions, I will not have the opportunity to respond on HOL in the immediate aftermath.
Of course I shall be profoundly in disagreement with the measures announced, spitting out fury akin to a hail of machine gun fire. 😡

Dalton had no choice but to resign, no Chancellor since has done anything similar. Others have not leaked they have discussed their options a subtle but clear distinction.???
Every budget since I can remember has been leaked. Now who is leaking is the great mystery. Is it the anti government media with scare stories, disgruntled MP's from the government's own party or the Chancellor flying a kite?
I think Dalton wasn't so much a leak, he publicly blurted it out and couldn't deny it.
Quite why we have to have a budget day with all the hullabaloo I’ve never quite understood. Other countries seem to do it differently. Because we do have a budget day and it's all secret squirrel of course the media will speculate, everybody claims to be in the know just like on football forums.
