COVID Inquiry findings

Perhaps the report will later address the need to have better contingency planning, although to plan for every possibility would be stupidly wasteful. Better to put right the identified weaknesses in decision making, speed of response and behaviour management.
Even better to realise it was just a pun.

Behaviour management
i refer specifically to Wisbech's suggestion, because the report is particularly damning of BJ's behaviour and the culture he fostered in his Government team.
How and why would you want to change things about a democratically elected Government, and who could possibly authorise that ?

Lockdown worked quite well for New Zealand.
They banned international travel far quicker. We had Chinese 'business trips' coming over. Plus others from the region. It barely stopped throughout. Kiwis were complaining all the same. Especially those stuck abroad.
Realistically, it would hardly be a stretch of the imagination to say, a virus is in China. Block everything and everyone from China and then any other affected country or region. But we all know why not.

A friend of mine was visiting his son in New Zealand when they locked down. He was there for several months as a consequence, but in a warm climate with family, so not too discomforted. Arranging the flights home when it was relaxed wasn’t easy though.

They went early and hard. It paid dividends.

Not though just the behaviour of politicians who think they can handle things better than the dimwits in the general population.

Also the behaviour of those who refuse to cooperate because they think they know better.
