Huge night tonight that could potentially see Haiti and Curaçao qualify for the WC.

Curaçao would be the smallest nation ever to qualify, with a population of just 150k.

Love to see countries like these two and Cabo Verde, who have already qualified, at the Finals.

Well, yes, but Curaçao just beat(thrashed) my country 0-7, but good luck to them. Jamaica are not as good as they were.

I'd say equal, due influx of West Indian folk. Most of the folk like football as do our immigrants & lots of our Canadian settlers. Cricket, meh, still played as former military dictates, ie village green on a Sat/Sun.

Had a better campaign in the Nations Cup.

I’m old enough to remember Haiti in the 1974 World Cup, also Zaire were there in that tournament, even the Jocks beat them. 🤣 I think they’re now known as Congo
As you say, it’s great to see different nations qualifying

Didn't realise Haiti had made it before.

There will be a few first timers in 2026.
As well as Cabo Verde, there is already confirmed Uzbekistan and Jordan

Well a third of the world qualified so there will be some random qualifiers. Not that it doesn’t create more interest though.

I was only aware of Zaire/Congo getting there before because of that famous incident where their defender rushed out the wall and wellied the opponents free kick before they had a chance to take it 🤣

A bit of a shame we don't get to see Yannick Bolasie in the finals, at 34 he is no longer in their squad.
They have another Palace connection though in Wan-Bissaka.
