As we know we are going to lose at least Sarr from Dec 8th, and maybe Esse and Uche, although OG doesn't seem to rate either, so i think a slight tinkering for at least until the transfer market, 3-5-2.

Nketiah, Mateta and Pino for the 2, rotating,
Mitchell, Lerma, Wharton, Hughes, Muñoz, with Kamada, Deveny, Sosa, Clyne and Doucoure? cover
Guehi, Lacroix, Richards, with Canvot and Riad as cover.

Doesn't sound as bad if this formation is used.

Fly in the ointment for Nketiah, he has been sounded out to switch allegiance from England to Ghana, especially now they have qualified. He only has one England cap & that was as a substitute v Australia . . .

I worry that doesn’t suit Pino, he was playing as a winger last year and is still adapting to playing as a ten in the PL.

I don’t see OG changing the formation that has brought him success, rightly or wrongly. If we have Nketiah I could see him coming into the front three on rotation but Glasner seems to favour Kamada and Devenny in those positions to anything more drastic.

Whichever formation the lack of goals in the squad is a worry. Until the window opens we’ve really got to hope Esse and/or Uche are around and Glasner finally feels they are ready.

Talk of Nketiah playing for Ghana still.

If Nketiah is fit and available I'd be tempted to go 352, which may naturally evolve under Glasner's system anyway with Pino looking to drop deep and collect the ball.
Sarr tends to play infield anyway , leaving space for Munoz on the outside , and I can't see why Nketiah can't play the Sarr role and take up similar positions to Sarr.

Thankfully this time round it's not such a big deal - OG has only to replace Sarr which means he can rotate Pino and Kamada, with the other midfield places already spoken for. And of course, Eddie Nketiah may spring back into action from injury, so we'll be fine barring injuries.

England U21 international Romain Esse..?

I'm not expecting we'll see much tinkering in Sarr's absence - I think Pino, Nketiah and Kamada will predominantly cover the '2' playing off Mateta, with Esse and Devenny the backups.

I think we may as well forget about Uche.
