Reform

I am cognisant of the fact that the subject matter is 'Reform', accordingly I shall refrain from articulating a 'Party Political Broadcast' on behalf of the Conservative Party.

All I will add is that we are indeed suffering from an 'Attention deficit' disorder however this was fully expected and it was always known that it would take time to regain the trust of the electorate. In opposition we have had our successes and we have also set out a serious alternative plan to restore economic strength and secure our borders.

Reform might have picked up the megaphone, they might appear to be a political oasis but it is a mirage.
In private my diatribe directed against Reform is incessant, they are placed in the pillory and subjected to lacerating attacks.
Conservatives picked up Reform megaphone, if Reform are still leading significantly in the polls close to elcetion I am sure the Conservatives will simply take all their policies except fiscal where they need a differentiator, we will see, just an opinion

The Conservatives biggest obstacle to re-election is in many ways the ace up our sleeves. Indeed it ,means we have to work assiduously to regain the trust of the electorate which is one aspect that Reform have in their favour. However we know the reasons as to how and why mistakes were made.We have the experience of Government, we know how the 'Engines' of power work, the problems and the pitfalls. Reform have no idea at all.
You are correct in saying that Reform have no experience of governing & you are also correct in saying that the 'Tories'(& labour) do & therin lies the problem. THE UK public have had enough of both the parties, broken promises, lies, deceit, failed policies etc, etc, etc. They want change.

You go on about, megaphones, hot air, bluster that Reform are doing, but, that's exactly what the Tories & Labour do, all the time, every time. Labour increasingly rely on the 'immigrant' vote, Tories, the 'blue-rinse' brigade. Reform will capture the young vote & many, many disillusioned Tory/Labour/Others vote.

Enjoy your meeting this afternoon mate.

The electorate wanted 'Change' last year, I rest my case.
I refute the accusation about the Conservatives "Hot air" and "Bluster".The answer is not Reform showmanship, it is serious sustained accountability. We need a Government that only promises what it can deliver, that sets realistic and sensible goals and whose policies stem from a fundamental set of long-held principles not a plethora of hastily assembled knee-jerk reactions and outlandish pledges.

Reform might be in the ascendancy but their rhetoric is coming under scrutiny and rest assured during a General Election campaign when minds are focussed on policies their announcements will come under the 'Spotlight' even more. Conservatives are not political quacks we will not sell the electorate a cure if we don't have one.

Time now to enjoy a coffee and cake with my Conservative chums. My Anti-Reform megaphone will be put into action !

All that Tory campaigning will do is make another Labour government more likely. Forgive me for repeating myself when I say, the Tories can't win.

A pact with Reform is your best bet, if Nigel will entertain it.

As the country declines, as it inevitably will, I only see voters moving further to the right.
If Farage fails, up will step Rupert Lowe or someone like him.

Many Tories will not though. More likely a mass defection of the Tory right to Reform.

if the result is hung, to form a government what remains of the Tories would then have to align with the Libs (assuming they mop up the centre).

Given how badly the Libs were treated during the coalition, they can probably forget that.

The Tories are the great survivors, but i am struggling to work out how they will survive this.

Might turn into a group of ranters like Mary Whitehouse if anything moves rant about it you know the stuff ,decency, morals society. The battle scars might not them attempt politics.

I hated Mary Whitehouse when I was a teenager (don't know why probably emotional rather than rational). The odd thing is that as I get older she was right about quite a bit, not all but I now wish people had listened to her more back then.

She over egged it far too much a more rational stance might have worked.

What matters is who the next government is. Some voters don't seem to understand that voting Liberal or for a party who is 4th in the poles is a wasted vote. Protest votes are worthless.
It will be a two horse race between Reform and Labour. A vote for any other party will help Labour, unless of course you are batshit crazy enough to vote Corbyn or Green.

VOTE REFORM....VOTE REFORM....VOTE REFORM....

I think Labour are done already, and as many have alluded to, most people are sick to death of the two main options - I think a Reform v Greens contest is more likely. People want different; it's just whether that comes from the left or the right.

Greens are polling very well - they're the most popular party amongst under-50s.

Some may say that this is only so because people believe that line.

It is a mantra born of FPTP duopoly politics. In a more fractured Weimer world we are sleep walking into it has less value.

Britain has its fair share of fruit loops and naive youngsters.

But understand what I said. They can't win the election. Unless you want to rejoice in the victory of having 2 seats in Parliament

That's just waffle.

The next government is all that matters.

It is often said that a week is a long time in politics the next election is nearly four years away, anything can happen as always I will keep an open mind.

I agree with you on this - of course polling this far out is not proof of anything, but that is every bit as applicable to Reform.

I think it's fair to say the majority of people are now fed up with the two main parties - the two main alternatives being served up at the moment are Reform and Greens, and I think both are well placed to take advantage of people's disillusion with Labour and the Tories.

The greens are not a proper party.
They are a collection of fruit cakes and dreamers. A lot of student politics piffle.

The BBC did a drama years back where Jane Horricks played a character who unintentionally caught the Zeitgeist and because PM effectively by accident.

In the current nutcase world don't count on the Greens not doing something similar.

Anyone who embraces forced censorship as enthusiastically as she did should never be allowed anywhere near a position of power or influence. IMHO.
