It doesn't seem to be going too well, particularly in the league. And I don't fancy them for Europe - although doing fine, you'd think the big boys will knock them out later. I'm wondering if they might pull the trigger? Maybe look for a big name?

Never rated him. I'm always getting told he's class and I know nothing, but I don't see him as any better than a mid-table manager.
In his last 3 seasons at Newcastle they have finished in 5th, 7th and 4th places.
When he arrived at Newcastle after 11 games, they were 19th, at the end of the season they finished in 11th place.
A creditable record.

Thanks Captain Google 🤣

Interesting how Bournemouth have kicked on since he left.
In fairness, they've had a big investment. It really isn't from nowhere as is being made out. They bought young enough too - mainly seemed like good signings. I'm not hugely knowledgeable about it but it feels like they have spent a lot. Probably more last season than this.

Well, to be fair that is a good CV, but I still don't find him exciting! I think I am just determined not to rate him hahaha.

I rate him, although I've always seen him as a 'streaky' manager. Capable of putting a good team together, but consistency always seems to be lacking.
I agree, I think he's a good manager. Newcastle spent bucket loads 3 years ago which is why they were handcuffed by FFP. I think this upcoming summer they'll be back to having money to spend (especially with the Isak money).

While I would love for Glasner to stay, if he did leave, I wouldn't mind Howe as a replacement.

They have spent a lot but the past two seasons have made a significant net profit in the market. They probably need to keep this going given the size of their ground . The highest salary is 85,000 a week but overall they only spend 5 million per annum less than us on wages
