I think we should get a couple of top class loans from the bigger European teams, and swallow the wages money, Players who need the shop window for 5 months, to give us the depth of player needed to compete for 4 cups, Guehi stays and 2 attacking loans, don't know who, but i am sure our recruitment team can find a couple who are hungry to impress, speculate to accumulate.

With the world cup coming up there must be players who are worried they will miss it so you may have a point.

Agreed but it is a delicate one - anyone coming in would need to be good enough to replace one of the current starting eleven which in itself could create disharmony in our squad.

Henderson
Richards
Guehi
Wharton
Lerma
Sosa
Munoz
Sarr
Pino
Mateta (as of the last few weeks)

The above are all players who are in contention for an international place. That leaves

Mitchell
Lacroix
Devenny (on the basis NI are unlikely to make the finals)
Hughes
Nketiah
Esse

This second list comprises players who get some or many first team minutes, but who are not likely to be gunning for a place in a qualifying nation (or at all).

Would signings need to dislodge players from the second list or from the first list?

Don't rule out Nketiah or Esse representing other nations. It's something I realised recently. Tuchel's not going to pick Nketiah but he has another nationality. Can't remember if it's Nigeria. I think it's that.

Eddie N is eligible for Ghana. I didn't realise he's already got a cap for England - not that it stops him doing a Wilf and transferring his allegiance.
Esse is of Ivorian descent and has played several games for England at under age levels.
(Thanks Wiki).

Its not about replacement its about rotation
To some degree I think you are both right. It is about rotation for our benefit but it is also delicate with reports the Colombian manager has suggested Lerma should move for first team football. That said the players that peak at Summer tournaments seem to be those who have 25-30 games in the season as much as those who have played 40-50 games.

You would hope loans would be for the positions we don’t already have competition for. A right wing back or someone who can play as a ten and striker would not harm anyone’s else’s chances. Esse, Uche or Cardines are already missing out, without competition. Nketiah can’t complain, with having to compete even to be first change, given his injury record.
